SPORTS PROGRAMME Saturday 6 May 2017
@CaterhamSport
Dear Parents and Players, I offer parents, players, staff and officials a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. If you are visiting our Hill Fields, please be patient as the building work on the new pavilion continues. Hopefully the next time that you visit, it will be finished and you can enjoy our hospitality on a balcony overlooking the pitches. Enjoy the British sunshine! Yours in sport, Rob Clarke Director of Sport
A message from the Head of Tennis Natalie Lomas
A message from the Head of Cricket Jonathan Batty
The girls have been keen to get their tennis season started and for some this will be their first game.
After some very positive performances last weekend against Reigate and Reed’s I am really looking forward to matches today against RGS Guildford and Seaford College.
Many have been practising throughout the winter and are ready to show off what they have learnt. Tennis continues to grow and the depth is making team selection harder this season. We aim to enable as many girls to play as possible over the course of the term and so are excited by this new fixture against Lingfield College. Good luck to all involved
The theme this week has been our application when batting and hopefully this will start to filter through to the respective players, with potential starting to be fulfilled. Good luck to all involved
