SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 7 OCTOBER

@CaterhamSport

Dear Parents and Players, I offer parents, players, staff and visitors a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. We are delighted to have the Hill Fields Pavilion open and I am sure that this will enhance your positive experience of sport at Caterham School. Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport

A message from the Head of Lacrosse Jen Simpson A warm welcome to Walthamstow Hall and Dulwich Prep for the first home fixtures of the year. The 1st and the U15As will take on Wally Hall at 11pm. Wally Hall has always proved to be tough competition especially at the U15 age group as they won a National Championship a few years back. Later in the afternoon, we will welcome Dulwich Prep from Kent to play our U13B and our U12A teams. This fixtures will be a great matchup for the U13s and another great second match for the U12s. The 2nd, U15B, U14B, and U12Bs will travel away to the Royal School. Good luck to all player’s in the matches today, looking forward to some close matches to finish the half term!

A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards

The senior sides played their matches under lights at Blackheath versus Colfe’s. This morning the junior sides play Epsom College and I would like to extend a warm welcome to them and to Colfe’s who are playing against our U14 and U16 sides. I am so pleased with the improvement of all the boys on the rugby pitch and I am really looking forward to seeing this continue in our last Saturday fixtures before half term. Good luck to all.

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times.

We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site and Hill Fields sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
