Ama Agbeze, England Netball Captain
Dear Parents and Players I offer parents, players, staff and official a very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, it is not more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that make sport so special and such an integral part of the education that we offer our pupils. With that in mind I hope that all matches today are played in the positive atmosphere that they should be. I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. Yours in sport, Rob Clarke, Director of Sport
A message from the Head of Lacrosse Jen Simpson Another busy weekend for Caterham Lacrosse. Caterham School is delighted to host the 2019 Coloma Cup at our Hill Fields sports grounds. We would like to welcome teams from Putney High School, Claremont Fan Court School, Guildford High School and St Catherine’s Bramely, St George’s Harpenden, St James and LEH. WE are looking forward to some fantastic lacrosse on display in the last U13 lacrosse fixtures of the season. Good luck to all LaxCats who will be representing the school this weekend. We are very proud of you all and the fantastic season you have had!
A message from the Heads of Hockey Rob Mugridge and Peter Friend The next few weeks are very busy with matches aplenty. This weekend, our block fixture is against Eltham College. This historically has been a very competitive and even block with some superb hockey played by both sides. Both myself and Mr Friend are excited about the prospects of what all the senior age groups can achieve this second half of term. We have been impressed by the attitude of all players and the willingness to improve and take new ideas on board in the early weeks of the season. We hope parents enjoy the hospitality and boys enjoy their games. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the rest of the season. As ever, best of luck to both teams!

Code of Conduct At Caterham School we ask all spectators to: 1) Encourage players to learn the rules and play within them. 2) Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials. 3) Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performance by all players. 4) Avoid belittling players for losing or making mistakes. 5) Accept the judgements of officials and recognise that they have a difficult job. 6) Support all players’ involvement and help them to enjoy the game. 7) Use correct and decent language at all times.
We love dogs - but please keep four-legged friends on a lead whilst on the School site and Hill Fields sports grounds. Unfortunately, where dogs go off-lead onto pitches foxes follow their scent and may mess the pitches. Thank you!
