SPORTS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 3 DECEMBER

@CaterhamSport

Dear Parents and Players, A very warm welcome to Caterham School. I hope that there are many closely fought encounters today and that all pupils involved go away enriched by their physical endeavours. While striving to win is vitally important, nothing is more important than the sportsmanship and friendship that makes sport so special and such an integral part of the education we offer to our pupils. With that said, I remind all of us that we are all responsible for ensuring that the pupils are supported at all times. Please let us all applaud good play from both teams, offer our congratulations to the victors but also acknowledge the efforts of the losers. I have no doubt that every pupil will give their all today and that each and every one of them deserve our praise and support. We hope that you enjoy the hospitality on offer today at Caterham. We aim to make you feel as welcome as possible and to give you the best possible experience of the school. If you are visiting our Hill Fields, please be patient as the building work on the new pavilion continues. Hopefully the next time you visit, it will be finished and you can enjoy our hospitality on a balcony overlooking the pitches. Yours in sport,

Rob Clarke Director of Sport

A message from the Head of Lacrosse Jen Simpson

A message from the Head of Rugby Dan Richards

I would like to welcome Lady Eleanor Holles School, as our opposition in the penultimate block fixture of the term. LEH has proved to be a significant force at many age groups especially the seniors, most recently winning the South Schools Tournament where Caterham 1st XII finished 4th. Good Luck to all of our players as well as our opponents. A huge congratulations to our U15 teams who performed fantastically at the County Tournament. The U15B finished 7th which is a huge improvement from last year. The U15A finished in 2nd place after going undefeated in the section rounds and beating Guildford High in the semi. They faced St Catherine’s in the final and narrowly lost 1-3.

It is my pleasure to welcome Reigate Grammar to Caterham for fixtures today in what is always a well contested block. Games in recent years have produced some exciting rugby played in excellent spirit and I am sure today will be no exception. On what promises to be a frosty morning I hope all spectators have wrapped up warm to provide positive support for the boys who will be giving their all to warm the spirits of those braving the touchline. The very best of luck to all involved and I sincerely hope you enjoy your visit to Caterham
