Principal’s Message
We look back on 2020 and 2021 with gratitude for the bountiful opportunities and achievements that CJC has been blessed with. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, our College theme “Hearts Ablaze, One Flame, One Family” continues to rally CJCians, teachers and staff in building a united college “family” in truth and in love.
We are heartened by the sustained commendable performance of the Classes of 2019 and 2020 in the GCE A-Level examinations. The majority of our students gained admission to reputable institutes of higher learning locally and overseas, with a sustained number of deserving students receiving prestigious scholarships.

Besides academic excellence, CJCians pushed the boundaries and strove for excellence in our respective Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs). Our Performing Arts CCAs did the College proud at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation 2021, with several achieving Certificates of Distinction and Gold Awards, despite having to cope with challenges like virtual CCA practices. Our Guzheng Ensemble also clinched the Gold Award at the Nanyang International Music Competition 2021. Our Track & Field/Cross-Country team took part in a virtual race to come out 4th in the A Division Boys category, with four individual top 20 winners. Our student competitors who represented the College in Golf and Taekwondo were placed among the top four national positions. We are proud of the Drama Society for nurturing playwrights with the original scripts of two students selected for the SYF ‘Young Playwrights’ Showcase 2021. Nexus, our investment and entrepreneurship society, came in second at a nation-wide Young Entrepreneurs Challenge 2021 which is a tremendous achievement for our college’s entrepreneurial team. Our students’ success in the various CCAs is a testament of their growth mindset, resilience and passion.
As part of our holistic education, many CJCians expanded their learning horizons by participating in local and overseas learning programmes and did CJC proud by winning accolades in conferences and academic competitions. Many CJCians went forth to participate in online local and overseas service learning projects, work attachments, and competitions and grew in their leadership journey.
Our student leaders rallied together to enhance College identity and uplift College spirit despite Covid-19 related challenges. Due to Safe Management Measures (SMMs), class-based activities and programmes grew in scale and importance. Our Class Management Committees (CMC) rallied their classes and worked closely with the Student Council, House Leaders and Sports Leaders to develop innovative and exciting programmes to bring the College together such as the inaugural Cross Factor Games in 2021.
In 2020, our College commemorated its 45th Anniversary with a series of thanksgiving events involving current students and our alumni. The CJ45 mural project, conceptualised by Dr Felicia Low (Class of 1995), showcased our students’ creative expression of their hopes and dreams for CJC. The CJ45 college song, “Bearers of the Flame”, composed by Dr Patrick Goh (Class of 1978), celebrates the CJ spirit and our distinctive mission as the only catholic junior college in Singapore. Our 45th anniversary celebrations culminated in the CJ45 Thanksgiving Mass, which was celebrated by our former College Chaplain Fr Gregory Tan on 27 Nov 2020. In August 2021, as part of our strong culture of care, the College launched the CJCares fundraising project to support students who require financial assistance during these challenging times. The money raised will go towards the CJC Needy Students Fund.
We are thankful for the strong support of our parents, School Management Committee, CJC Alumni, and the Parent Support Group (PSG) in helping the College scale new heights in teaching, learning and student development.
This biennial celebrates the CJ spirit and identity. To CJCians of the Class of 2020 and 2021, we hope it will bring back fond memories of being a part of the CJ family.
Thank you and God bless.
In Veritate et Caritate
