Welcome Back… Welcome Home!
¡BIENVENIDOS DE REGRESO.... BIENVENIDOS A CASA!
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
reetings and Prayerful Blessings to you from Fr. Balaji, Your Pastor. I want you to know that you are very much in prayers and St. Michael Parish is very grateful to you for your kind cooperation and your generous support during these hard times. This is my privilege to say “Welcome Home” To those of you who have been actively participating in the life of our parish but have been forced to stay away due to the COVID-19 pandemic, welcome home! To those of you who haven’t been to church in years and decided to renew your faith, welcome back, and welcome home! During these past few months, we have experienced some of the most challenging and unnerving times in the history of our nation and Church. As we start to emerge from this crisis and return to Mass and parish activities and ministries, we feel blessed and excited to see familiar faces and some new faces, as well In times like these, when nothing seems to make sense, we are so glad you are here. The timing of your return is perfect, because the truth is, we need Christ now more than ever. Whether you have simply been forced to stay away while public Masses were canceled, or if you have been away from the Church for many years, this crisis has changed us all. We have had some extra time lately for introspection. For personal reflection. And for prayer. And perhaps during this era of isolation and social distancing, you have found yourself yearning for Christ more than ever before in the hopes of finding some meaning to all of this. You have come to the right place. As you walk through our doors for the first time in months — or perhaps even years — we hope you see the face of Christ in all those around you. We hope you find a welcoming parish family there to greet you, overjoyed by your return. As Christ tells us, from Matthew’s Gospel, “For I was a stranger, you welcomed me” (Mt. 25:35). Whether you’re a longtime parishioner, or someone who fell away from the Catholic Church and are ready to become renewed in the faith, we welcome you with open arms! By living out our calling as Christian stewards, we will all emerge from this dark time as a community of faith that is stronger than ever — together. Welcome back. And welcome home.
aludos, bendiciones y oraciones para todos del Padre Balaji, su Pastor. Quiero que sepan que están siempre en mis oraciones y que la parroquia de St. Michael está muy agradecida por su cooperación y generoso apoyo en estos difíciles momentos. Es mi privilegio decir “Bienvenidos a Casa.” Para quienes han participado activamente de la vida parroquial, pero se han visto forzados a alejarse por la pandemia del COVID-19, ¡bienvenidos a casa! Para quienes no han venido a la iglesia en años y han decidido reanudar su fe, ¡bienvenidos de regreso y bienvenidos a casa! Durante estos meses, hemos experimentado algunos de los momentos más preocupantes y retantes en la historia de la nación y la Iglesia. Al comenzar a salir de la crisis y regresar a Misa, y a las actividades y ministerios parroquiales, ¡nos sentimos bendecidos y emocionados de ver rostros conocidos, y algunos nuevos también! En momentos como estos, cuando todo carece de sentido, agradecemos su presencia. Su regreso es muy oportuno, porque realmente, necesitamos a Cristo ahora más que nunca. Si se ha visto precisado a alejarse mientras las Misas públicas estaban suspendidas, o si lleva años alejado de la Iglesia, esta crisis nos ha cambiado a todos. Hemos disfrutado de más tiempo para introspección. Para reflexiones personales. Y para la oración. Tal vez en esta temporada de aislamiento y distanciamiento social, se ha encontrado anhelando a Cristo más que nunca, esperando encontrar el sentido de todo esto. Ha venido al lugar preciso. Al cruzar nuestros umbrales por primera vez en meses – o tal vez años – esperamos vea el rostro de Cristo en quienes le rodean. Esperamos halle una familia parroquial que le recibe, saluda y está feliz con su regreso. Cristo nos dice, en el Evangelio de Mateo, “Porque fui extranjero, y me recibieron…” (Mateo. 25:35). Bien sea un feligrés por años, o alguien que se alejó de la Iglesia Católica y ahora está listo a renovar la fe, ¡le recibimos con alegría! Viviendo nuestro llamado como cristianos corresponsables, saldremos de este tiempo difícil como una comunidad de fe más fuerte – juntos. Bienvenidos de regreso. Bienvenidos a casa.
