Fountain experiment
The implementation of the raingarden calls for the strategic channeling of rain runoff over surfaces. Because the project is also sited near a building, it will also receive roof run-off. Thus brought the opportunity to utilise the water to create a feature that would add an additional relaxing quality to the site. This project was a means to see if water can be pumped from the bottom of the tank to the top without a water pump but with the use of gravity. Thus a excess amount of water would be able to trigger the fountain to function.

Heron’s Fountain is means of directing water movement through gravity and pressurised air. When water is entering the system, it will push water out of the system at the same rate. The experiment was to see if the fountain could potentially move in perpetual motion as water leaves the system and enters it again. Heron's Fountain Diagram
