“I am a German girl who is able to fulfill her dream of studying abroad. The amount of benefits provided amazes me; adapting to an entirely new environment broadens the independence and makes one more mature. Furthermore, the language skills improve while living abroad through the contact with interesting people with multicultural backgrounds. It is a privilege to have friends all over the world. Studying at CATÓLICA-LISBON is a great chance to extend the international network, which I definitely consider as an advantage in today’s globalized world. Portugal is an ideal setting for an international orientated university degree. I learned that the Portuguese are friendly, outspoken and candid people. The degree program sets you up well for a wide and global spectrum of professions. Getting to know more about my strengths and weaknesses helps me to work on them in order to take the appropriate steps into my academical and professional future. I am not saying that it will be easy. It will be a challenge, but so far it has been the best time of my life.” Louisa Ness Germany Class of 2018

“I chose CATÓLICA-LISBON for several reasons. Firstly, the high quality of courses that the university offers. Secondly, all the support provided to students to help them take decisions about their future, and all the extracurricular activities that allow the students to flourish in the university. Lastly, the multiculturalism within CATÓLICA-LISBON is huge and very impressive. Indeed, you can meet people from everywhere around the world and it gives you the opportunity to develop an international network which is, I think, very important and almost essential for our future in today’s world. I grew up in Belgium and did all my schooling in French so the fact of doing my undergraduate program abroad and in another language was not an easy decision but the challenge was appealing. The schedule proposed by the university allows students to still have time for extracurricular activities. Hence, I have the opportunity to discover the country, to learn Portuguese and enjoy the Portuguese culture. For all these reasons, I absolutely do not regret my choice.” Sammy Zeaiter Belgium Class of 2018

“My experience at CATÓLICA-LISBON has so far been better than my expectations. Studying Business in the Undergraduate International Program is challenging but it has its rewards as it prepares us for real life. I am certain by the time I graduate I will have developed skills I would not develop in any other place. The studying environment in campus is engaging and inspirational as there are always activities going on. Furthermore, the student to teacher ratio is small so the education is in a way more personal, especially in the practical lessons. Also, the faculty is always willing to assist with any doubts and questions and my colleagues are friendly and helpful. I am definitely looking forward to the next three years at CATÓLICA-LISBON!” Laura Fernandez Bolivia Class of 2018

When I arrived at CATÓLICA-LISBON, I received all that and more! The INTERNATIONAL UNDERGRADUATE student cohort features a multitude of nationalities ranging from Saudi Arabia to Kazakhstan, from Portugal to Bolivia. This, in addition to the social events organized by CATÓLICA-LISBON and its students union, allowed me to learn about people from all over the world, in ways that I have never done before. In conjunction with CATÓLICA-LISBON’s multidimensional and rigorous academic program, these facets have made my time at CATÓLICA-LISBON truly an experience that I will never forget.” Marcello Pereira United Arab Emirates Class of 2018

“Having been born and brought up in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, I was always surrounded by a plethora of diverse communities. I was accustomed to learning about and living amongst different people, cultures, traditions and ways of thinking.

“Being a transfer student, I was quite afraid of how CATÓLICA-LISBON would receive me, but I could not have wished for a better experience. 2019 | International Undergraduate Programs |

Besides the classes, which are interesting and worth waking up for, the student body is open, ambitious and incredibly friendly. This is also shown by the possible activities and associations that the university offers, such as the Freshmen activities, the TedTalks and further possibilities to join clubs or voluntary work. The professors, as well as the admissions team and the student affairs team actually care about the well being of the students and do their best to help with any problems. For the short period of time I have been here, I have had a lot of fun and even learning for the exam phase was somehow exciting. I am animated about the coming years and look forward to calling myself a student from this university.” Regina Breiholz Germany Class of 2018
