We would like to welcome you to our 60th Annual Bull Sale. This year we sold the bred heifers and foals back in the fall on Nov 21 and have kept the bulls until now. I honestly don’t know how many total sales we’ve hosted. I think 60 is consecutive years of sales on our own but some of those years they had fall production and spring bull sales. I don’t believe it counts the sales that they hosted jointly either with names such as Trefaks and Longs back in the day. I know if Grandma was still here or Mrs. Trefak, or Mr. Long they would be able to tell me in short order. Needless to say, we are proud to continue what they started. The frst cattle registered on this ranch were in 1946 and I like to think we have the same goals and passion for the breed that they did then.
It’s lately been a refreshing time in the cattle business and much deserved. Over many years the cattleman has sacrifced time and effort and it’s rewarding to see hard and honest work be paid off.
These days we have numbers and stats for almost every measurable trait and although they may have some merit, we still feel they do not trump the fundamentals of soundness whether it be feet, udders, disposition, or productivity. As fertility and longevity in both your females and your bulls is your number one trait when traced back to proftability. So as we move forward we try to select cattle with balance. I believe the balance is what pushes the Hereford as the multi tool of the beef industry. The Hereford will cross well with anything and the premium that the baldie calf will return is the result.
I would like to re-introduce the Bennett Ranch as partners as always in our horse offering. You will fnd Bennett horses throughout the Western Provinces and their program speaks for itself.

Wyatt Earp is an 8 yr old 15HH good looking gelding with a bald face and two hind socks. I sold his sire and his mother’s sire to Warren Mckinley but this colt was never registered so he sells as a grade. This horse has made hundreds of miles here sorting pairs through two calving seasons and brandings. He’s smooth to ride and will go all day without wearing you out. This attractive gelding will travel at all gates with a loose rein and will give you the extra effort needed on a long day when asked. Wyatt Earp will get along with most riders but due to his athleticism his new rider should have some experience.

Drifter is 5 yr old 15.1 HH home raised brown gelding. His sire is our Douglas Lake stallion and mother a gray Two Eyed Gray Badger mare. I enjoy this smooth gelding every ride and have said many times that I was keeping him for myself. If he stays here the younger ones won’t be rode as often so here he is. Drifter rides out every time and enjoys his work. He has a good walk and an ultra smooth travelling lope. You can rope and tie off when needed as he’s trailed and sorted hundreds of cows. Drifter has speed when needed and will give you that little extra if asked. This nice brown gelding is at the perfect age to adapt to his new rider as he’s in the prime of his life. Enjoy. This is a TB and Brucellosis free area. All males are guaranteed to pass tests. All cattle are on a full vaccination program and have had Ivomec. Pasture exposure dates are listed. Should any animal fail to breed, we would like to be notifed as soon as possible to make suitable settlement.
