New Wave of Georgian Cinema Starts Travel All Over the Country

tarting today, audience in 19 Georgian regions will see eight films made in the country and recognized at leading international festivals. Each of the films will be released every Thursday for a week’s screening in culture centers and auditoriums throughout the regions, as part of the project run by the Ministry of Culture and the National Film Center. The selected films were produced from 2013-2015 and will be projected using equipment installed in the halls by the Culture Ministry. Pg. 7

Ajara Improves Sea Resorts Infrastructure, But Prices Grow As Well

olidaymaking prices in Ajara have increased by 10-20% and tourists seem to be spending the same amount at Georgian and Turkish sea resorts. There difference is insignificant, travel companies assert. Moreover, sometimes domestic service tariffs are

much higher in Batumi and Kobuleti compared to Antalia. Batumi-based hotels are overloaded. Currently, two-bed suites with a breakfast are rented at 100-150 GEL. Some hotels assure prices will further increase in August and suites should be booked several days earlier. Pg. 5

Ukrainian Visitors to Develop Cycling Tourism in Ajara

krainian guests are interested in developing the cycling tourism in Ajara. Bicyclist Mikhail Diuba says for the first time he visited Ajara in 2013 and discovered a huge potential for cycling tourism development in the Region. Diuba has already started implementing the project and unveiled

a bicycles store in Batumi. “For the first time we arrived in Ajara from Ukraine in 2013. We fell in love with this Region immediately, because there is a unique nature, hospitable people and the best dishes. For the first time we arrived in Georgia as tourists, visited mountains and a new idea was born that we would return here by bicycles the next time. Pg. 6

International Standard Rugby Stadium to Open in Batumi

atumi will have an international standard rugby stadium in the near future. The Chairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze together with the General Director of Association ATU Karlo Lekveishvili has visited the place and got introduced to the ongoing process today. The playground is being built on Leonidze Street. This fact will contribute to the urban develop-

ment of surrounding area. The total project cost is 7 775 988 GEL. 1 800 000 Gel worth of work has been already done. Kartu Group started construction works in March, 2014. Complex area covers 4.5 hectares. The main stadium is designed for 2500 spectators. There is also a field with artificial surface for 500 spectators and sand playground for physical activity and training. Pg. 2

hairman of Ajara AR Government Archil Khabadze visited a newly constructed residential building on Lermontov street, Batumi. Batumi Botanical Garden area residents will move to the 5-storey, 42 apartment building soon. The house was constructed by the Company ATU and ordered by Batumi City Hall. The house is well equipped with water, gas and electricity. Kitchen faucets, bathtubs and water heaters are installed. Kitchens and toilets are decorated. Pg. 2
