NETS Cave Collective’s hanging nets truly embody the artists’ continuing exploration of the ritualistic in art making, the feminine principle and the creative process in performance. The repetitive act of weaving - intrinsically feminine becomes a meditative process and a ritual in itself. Some of these nets have been produced in performance, such as in ‘Weave of Dawn’. Others were made to adorne environments (Le Petit versailles garden residency, 2014, People Of Tomorrow, 2015) or became part of a stage design (All Blues performance by Atelier de Geste, Baryshnikov Arts Center, 2015) Hanging nets can be made to order at any dimensions, their colour and scale can be matched to suit most purposes and environments. Their beauty lies in their adaptability - they can be hung from a wall or ceiling, flat or 3 dimensional. They are lightweight and have an eye catching transparency as they move playfully when exposed to a slight breeze. The nets come with sculpted bronze rings for installation. Custom orders start at $200 depending on required scale, materials and processes involved.

FIBER WOVEN WALL HANGINGS / SCULPTURES Drawing inspiration from the hues and terrains of the Pacific Northern coastline, these fiber weavings and objects mimic forms and patterns found in nature. Each piece is inspired by these countless moments of discovery made whilst walking through wildflower fields opening up to the Pacific ocean. The striations on rocks, to the cluster of seaweed strewn ashore, every shape and texture that is noticed becomes abstracted into these weavings and sculptures. Fiber woven wall hangings are one of a kind and each piece varies from the other in shape and colors. Custom orders can be done upon request in which size, general shape and colors can be discussed. They come in 3 sizes of small, medium and large. They are made with natural materials (cotton, linen, wool, silk) that are cut into strips and naturally dyed. These hangings have a thick canvas backing with secured hanging loops on the backside that can be installed by hanging with a set of nails or small hooks. The ‘Fiber Relics’ are coiled by hand with silk/linen threads on rope. All colors are naturally dyed. Unlike the wall hangings, thes pieces can be made to order. These small sculptures can be installed by hanging on a nail.

BOWLS Each metal bowl is one of a kind and carefully hand sculpted. They can be used to burn loose incense or to hold small objects. CARE Fibers: The fibers used in our hand made pieces are some of the finest silk/cotton blends, cotton/linen blends, pure silks, merino wool or cashmere/mink threads. It is recommended that jewelry pieces are either stored lying flat or hanging, occasionally combing tassels from time to time. Avoid getting wet if possible. Natural Dyes: Most of the fiber pieces are naturally dyed with the exception of black. Dye stuffs are either foraged or sourced locally. Due to the handmade nature of dyeing, variations can and will occur. Dye pigments that are used are the following: Madder root, anatto seed, avocado pit and skins, logwood, indigo, alkanet, mallow blossoms, chlorophyll, blueberries, and onion skins. All fiber pieces can be customized to any of these natural dye colors. Metals: As many of our products are made of either brass or bronze it is important to store your jewelry in a dry place. Metals naturally tarnish over time due to body oils and oxidation. A jewelry polishing cloth is reccomended to keep your jewelry in good condition.
