CAVERSHAMbooksellers Independent bookselling: Caversham’s success stems from having actual books on shelves – and a lot of them. Our vast selection runs between 6,000-8,000 titles: a serious investment in inventory. Most of our books are professional titles with short discounts as opposed to trade books (like cookbooks and novels) which have much larger discounts. The average net margin for independent bookselling is 4%. Ours is approximately half of that. That said, we offer amazing service and prompt delivery because the book you want or didn’t know you wanted is in our shop. Caversham stays relevant by being part of the mental health community by attending conferences, hosting book launches, and by promoting rare and hard to find books. And above all else our staff is why we are a success. We know what we are doing and we are passionate about it. Hand in hand with this, our customer base is fiercely loyal and satisfied.

Caversham is the Cadillac of booksellers. As an author I have found Caversham to be very creative, truly supportive of authors and a joy to work with. The public and health professions rely on Caversham to offer them the best books in the field of psychology and mental health. They are awesome.

Caversham is one of the best bookstores in the world. Seriously. They know the best books to offer, they price them fairly and they have service with a smile, because they are a business of real people who all have big hearts. But be warned: I always leave with several books when I encounter them and I suspect you will too.

a Success Story

Just as all therapists are not alike, all booksellers are not the same. Whether looking for a self-help book or an academic text, you can trust Caversham Booksellers to have the widest selection of mental health books as well as the most knowledgeable and helpful staff. Independent bookstores are a lifeline for psychotherapists because they stock or will find the books you most want for yourself and your clients. When we support independent booksellers like Caversham, we help keep this resource alive for our mental health community.

This guide covers general personality disorders & manifestation, neurological components, a developmental psychology approach to understanding how personality disorders develop & why they do not in some people.

The WHO's International Classification of Diseases (ICD) has been a major factor in the creation of international standards for diagnosis yet it has not been fully integrated into the mental healthcare system. As such, this book provides psychologists with a brief yet thorough overview of the 10th edition of the ICD.

Working to help every Ontarian get the mental help they need, when they need it.

Mental health care has come a long way since the Ontario Psychological Association first started representing the profession in 1947. Our major problem now is access – access to the right care, at the right time and in the right place by the right provider. At OPA we are working harder than ever to ensure that every Ontarian has equitable access to mental health care services as well as toward a full integration of the mental health providers in every community.
