INSIDE THIS ISSUE:
Privacy: we all need it, value it and have a reasonable expectation that it is protected by the Charter. The ever-evolving technological world tests existing privacy boundaries and establishes new ones. Over the past year, the Supreme Court of Canada has rendered decisions dealing with privacy laws and legitimate business issues and, more recently, two landmark SCC decisions were rendered against Facebook and Google, both highlighting the impact of Canadian law on business activities in other jurisdictions. Dash-Cam videos, free speech on the Internet and a private right of action against organizations that violate CASL are all covered in this issue. Enjoy the read!
