In a survey conducted in Year 12 classes this week students were asked: What is your hope for the future of the world?

The elimination of poverty was a recurring theme in their responses. Other responses included:

EREA Heads of Junior School Conference On Thursday and Friday I am travelling to Melbourne with colleagues to attend a national gathering of Heads of Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA) Junior Schools. CBC colleagues and I have been invited to present a seminar on the importance of a whole school approach to education as the following conference excerpt explains: “Great schools “row as one”; they are quite clearly in the same boat, pulling in the same direction in unison.” In this presentation Principal of CBC Adelaide Noel Mifsud, Deputy Shaun Clarke and Assistant Principal Junior Campus Caroline Clarke will share with you how a tightly aligned community is marked by a palpable sense of common purpose and shared identity among staff.

A clear sense of “we” ensures a College such as CBC which exists on three separate campuses is unified in a common identity shaped by our role as a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Community.

Counsellor’s Corner Am I looking for Him? For many around us in our society God means very little.

It is not that they do not believe in God but for them God is irrelevant, has no interest in them, is unnecessary, is tied up in dos and don’ts and allows some to suffer or die. Yet our God is the God we experience in life, the God revealed to us in the Bible, both New and Old Testaments. Our God is the God of the Parables - Good Shepherd, Prodigal Son and Good Samaritan. “You are good to us and forgiving, full of constant love for all who pray to you” Psalm 86: 5. “Whenever I am anxious and worried, you comfort me and make me glad” Psalm 94:19. “Answer me Lord, in the goodness of your constant love; in your compassion turn to me. Psalm 69: 16. “The Lord will protect you from all danger, he will keep you safe.” Psalm 121: 8. “Do not be afraid, I am with you” Isaiah 41:10. “I have called you by name, you are mine” Isaiah 41: 1. “Even if a mother should forget her child, I will never forget you.” Is. 49:15. “God never takes back his gift or revokes his choice” Romans 11: 29. “The Lord is kind and compassionate” James 5:11.

We experience our God in the events, creation and people in our lives.

God is revealed to us in the love of husband and wife, the birth of a child, in friendship, in the goodness and kindness of people. God is revealed to us in the practical help of the less fortunate, in those who work for peace and justice, in creation - the flowers, a sunset, an atom or living creature. Our God does not force himself on us; we must welcome him. Look for God in the events and people I meet today.

Following the success of Open Day where over 720 people visited the College we hosted Principal’s Tours of both the Junior and Senior Campuses on Tuesday and Wednesday with over thirty families in attendance.

I wish to thank our staff and student guides, Mrs Jenny Dunncliff College Registrar and Mrs Jacinta Weiss Community Liaison for their organisation and/or hosting of the event.

As a follow up to the Principal’s Tours I received the following letter: To the wonderful staff at CBC, I would like the opportunity to thank you for your outstanding welcoming of our family on the three occasions that we have visited CBC. From the initial Principal’s tour of the Senior Campus, the Open day, and then again today at the Principal’s tour of the Junior Campus, we have been welcomed so warmly, politely, and professionally from both staff and students alike.

I would like to also thank the Principal Noel, who has at every occasion acknowledged us individually and taken the time for a quick chat and today remembering our family from previous visits.

From The Deputy Principal The Body And Brain Of Boys Develop At Different Rates I am sure all parents of adolescent children have often asked their son why they have been reckless or done something on impulse and been given the answer “I don’t know. I just wasn’t thinking”. This statement may be truer than we realise. We know that once your son enters adolescence there are enormous physical changes, but this growth in their physical size doesn’t appear to be correlated to the maturation of the brain.

Recent research by neuroscientist Frances Jensen and neurologist David Urion at the Children’s Hospital Boston have discovered that teenagers’ brains are only about 80 percent fully developed and that brain development isn’t complete until people reach their 20s or even 30s—more than a decade later than experts had thought previously. It was conventionally thought that adolescents had adult brains that were awash in hormones and this attributed to adolescent behaviour.

The past few years of research, however, reveal that the teenage brain truly is unique.

Because an adolescent brain is still developing, it retains much of its plasticity, which allows it to be moulded by the environment. This malleability boosts teenagers’ abilities to learn, make memories and retain information.

While all teens have turbocharged learning skills and fantastic memories, girls’ and boys’ brains develop at different rates; girls peak at age 12 to 14, about two years before boys. Naturally, this influences how ready teens are to learn and be challenged to their greatest extent. It is this difference in plasticity that the college has been working on this year, in partnership with Professor Martin Westwell, to develop the brain executive functioning of our students and make them aware of their own thinking.

Although teens’ brains are superior in some ways, they’re distinctly immature in one key area. The last part of the brain to fully connect up—well past the teenage years—is the frontal lobe, which houses judgment, insight, dampening of emotions and impulse control. Since it isn’t fully developed, there’s a cognitive chasm between coming up with an idea and being able to decide if it’s actually a good one. This can result in teenagers being risk-takers and irrational in their decision-making. Teenagers are often not aware that their behaviour can be dangerous and judge others rather than themselves.

If you’ve ever seen a teenager who literally can’t keep his eyes open, you might wonder if he’s lazy or just completely disinterested. Turns out it’s neither.

Researchers have found that sleep cycles naturally shift forward during adolescence for biologically-programmed reasons, and sleep plays a crucial role in a teen’s ability to learn. These differences in sleep cycles may have big implications for the timing of optimal learning periods, as researchers have discovered that the ideal time for learning starts two hours after a person’s biologically-set wake-up time. This can explain the difficulty in getting

For parents one of the greatest concerns of the teenage years is the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Neuroscientists believe that the plasticity of the brain is paradoxical. Just as it allows teens to learn and retain a lot of information, it also makes them susceptible to negative influences. Through research they believe if a teenager’s nervous system sees alcohol or a drug their synapses lock on to that drug and form strong connections that underlie their affinity for it. This process of addiction actually uses the same neurochemistry as general learning. It is believed that specific neuronal connections readily form from exposure to stimuli, like drugs and alcohol, and become irreversibly imprinted on their brains. That means that when teens drink or smoke, they’re laying down a lasting sensitivity that can easily lead to addiction.

Since teenagers are so susceptible to their environments, a great deal of study has been done by neuroscience to explore what effects modern society has on their brains. We know that the media focuses on teenagers in their advertisements targeting them with alcohol, branded clothes and cars. The brains of all teenagers today deal with multi-tasking and sensory overload, since they’re constantly interacting with fastpaced, sensory-filled stimuli from computers, television, text messages and video games. Brains, evolutionarily, have never been subjected to the amount of cognitive input at the rate that’s happening today. Teenagers today can have 25 things coming at them all the time and this overload of stimulus could be altering the way their brains are getting wired. That is, they may be developing new abilities and skills but may be sacrificing another skill set to become proficient multi-taskers.

It is important today that we continue to communicate with teenagers, to provide direction to get them to reflect on their actions and not to be impulsive. We know that as their bodies grow they feel they have the maturity to make their own decisions and often their attitude and behaviour can lead them into activities that put them at risk. As a College community we need to be aware of the development of the teenage brain and support them in managing their increasingly complex environment. At the college this year, through the work of Professor Martin Westwell in the neuroscience of learning, we are exploring the development of the brain and strategies that can be used in the classroom to promote students to use their executive brain functions, where they reflect on processes, examine alternatives, learn to be flexible and think about their learning. By being aware of themselves and their thinking they can think before they act.

sent to him by the publisher so that he could make any last minute corrections. It is worth remembering that Paul McGuire wrote all his books on a typewriter, at the same time as he held down paid employment and was a member of many Catholic committees.

From the Archives Paul McGuire Paul McGuire, after whom the College library is named, died on 15 June 1978 and we hold the Paul McGuire Literary festival in June to acknowledge his contribution to literature, CBC and the Church.

He attended the College from 1916 to 1919 and then went on to distinguish himself at the University of Adelaide. He wrote over thirty books on topics as diverse as history, politics, travel, poetry and detective fiction. During this time he worked as a journalist, served as Australia’s delegate to the United Nations, was a naval intelligence Officer and then the first Australian Ambassador to the Vatican.

Paul McGuire’s books are now all out of print, but the archives has been in the process of acquiring copies of the books in the hope of building a complete collection, which will then be a resource for students and staff.

At this point, our collection consists of nineteen books including two that belonged to the author. They were

Br William Egan

Brother William Egan 14 June marks the anniversary of the death of Br William Paulinus Egan who was the last surviving Brother of those who had worked with Francis Thomas O’Brien, superior of the College from 1879 to 1890.

Br Egan arrived at CBC in 1883 at a time when two of the Brothers had died within a day of each other and the workload of running an entire school was being shared by the two remaining Brothers. He stayed for a year before being moved to the South Melbourne Orphanage, but returned in 1885. He spent small periods of time outside of South Australia but most of the fifty three years he spent in Australia were in Adelaide.

He was a quiet man who was noted for his supervision and control of the boarders. He had a great love of reading and, when he was no longer able to teach, supervised the school libraries. He had a modern approach to reading for the time, believing that if boys were supplied with enough interesting literature they would eventually develop a discriminating taste.

A passionate follower of the politics of his homeland, he was glad to be at the College when Irish politicians visited on two separate occasions to thank the Brothers for their support for independence in Ireland. It was the closest he came to revisiting the old country. Ill health forced him to retire to Rostrevor where he died in 1936.

The National Child Oral Health Survey is Here!

The purpose of the National Child Oral Health Survey (South Australian component) is to investigate the impact of dental disease in child populations in South Australia.

Over the next few weeks, an invitation will be sent home to parents via randomly selected students.

Parents/guardians will be asked to fill out a Survey questionnaire, then on designated days, our trained, professional clinicians will visit the school to record the oral health status of the participating students including the presence of decay, any existing fillings, trauma to front teeth (fractures/chips), gingivitis, plaque, enamel defect and any ulcers or other tissue trauma in the mouth. This examination can take up to 20 minutes. No treatment will be given, as this is a research Survey to take a snap shot of the current oral health status of our 5 – 14 year olds in South Australia. However, should our clinicians detect an area of concern; parents will be notified in order that treatment can be sought through the school dental service or the family dentist. The collective results will provide policy and planning direction for services in your community and eventually to be absorbed into a National study.

Should your child be selected, South Australian Health would be very grateful for parental consent for your child’s inclusion in the study. We can’t do this without you!

Assistant Principal Wellbeing Absence from school can limit a student’s achievement Recently, there has been significant public discussion about school attendance. It would seem timely that I revisit our community expectations regarding attendance. The following extract from the DECD Attendance Improvement Package states, “Children and students need to maximise attendance at preschool and school to gain optimum benefit from education. Ensuring regular attendance at preschool and school is a shared responsibility between parents/caregivers, preschools and schools.”

In order to build successful teaching and learning relationships students need to be at school to develop a sense of continuity and belonging. Absence does impact upon developing sound foundations to be able to apply learning in diverse contexts.

Where a child fails to attend school as required by the Act, each parent/caregiver of the child shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a monetary penalty.

Where a child’s education program provides for off-site instruction, it is a requirement that the child attend in line with the requirements of the education program.

Prosecution for non-attendance by a child of compulsory age will be initiated only after all other intervention has been attempted and prosecution is considered to be in the best interests of the child.

We aim to work together to support families to ensure that school age students attend school. Under the Child Protection Policy schools must ensure that they intervene as soon as possible to support a student’s full attendance at school and at any school endorsed off-site instruction facility, e.g. VET courses or CSL. As part of our pastoral practice, Pastoral Care teachers contact parents regarding any unexplained absence of three days or less. Year level Coordinators, Counsellors or AP Well Being will make contact after three days unexplained absence.

NIDA at CBC During the Term 2 holidays CBC will again be hosting the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) while they run their short courses in Adelaide.

Acting Assistant Principal – Junior Campus Dear Parents and Caregivers, It is hard to believe how quickly the term has progressed. It seemed like yesterday that I was thanking you all for the way in which you had welcomed me to the Junior Campus. Now here we are in Week 8, deeply involved in report writing and reflecting upon student learning outcomes for Semester 1. As Week 8 draws to a close we will farewell Mrs Margaret Duddy and welcome back Mr Peter Wallace, who returns from long service leave. I wish to take this opportunity to publicly thank Marg for her personal and professional presence within the Junior Campus over the past eight weeks.

We have loved having her as part of the team! For both Marg and her students it has been a rewarding journey met by high expectations, clear boundaries and a focus on success, which is clearly reflected in both the learning environment she has created within the classroom and student learning outcomes. Marg leaves us only to embark on a special trip to Italy with family. On behalf of the community I wish her a safe and relaxing holiday. We also welcome Anne-Marie Procter who will join us in Term 3 as the teacher of our new Reception Gold class. Anne-Marie brings to this role a wealth of experience and a clear love and passion within her chosen profession. In preparation for next term these students will experience transition visits on Friday of this week and Week 9. In the true spirit of the Junior Campus can I ask that as a community you extend a warm welcome to Anne-Marie, the students of Reception Gold and their families.

Community Of Inquiry The College continues to work in partnership with Professor Martin Westwell and the Flinders University Science 21 Team to develop a deep understanding of the neuroscience of learning. Coordinated with our teacher/librarian Caroline Wilson, we have organised an exciting opportunity to explore with Professor Martin Westwell and his team the concept of “A Community of Inquiry”. Engaging in this process will initially be Mrs Clifton’s Reception Class and Mr McLoughlin’s Year 8 class, then on our student free day (Monday 25 June) staff R-12 will share in this process.

An educational community of inquiry is a group of individuals who collaboratively engage in purposeful critical discourse and reflection to construct personal meaning and confirm mutual understanding. The Community of Inquiry theoretical framework represents a process of creating a deep and meaningful (collaborative-constructivist) learning experience through the development of three interdependent elements social, cognitive and teaching presence.

The social presence is the ability of participants to identify with the community, communicate purposefully in a trusting environment, and develop inter-personal relationships by way of sharing their individual personalities.

The teaching presence is the design, facilitation and direction of cognitive and social processes for the purpose of realising personally meaningful and educationally worthwhile learning outcomes.

The cognitive presence is the extent to which learners are able to construct and confirm meaning through sustained reflection and discourse.

The “Community of Inquiry” allows students to listen to one another with respect, build on one another’s ideas, challenge one another to supply reasons for otherwise unsupported opinions, assist each other in drawing inferences from what has been said, and seek to identify one another’s assumptions.

The benefits of the cognitive presence to learning are that learners construct meaning through critical discourse and metacognitve approaches. In other words, they recognise a problem (a triggering event), explore possible solutions (through brainstorming, communication, divergent thinking), integrate findings (convergent thinking) and resolve the problem (by applying, testing, and defending possible solutions).

From a social presence they are able to project their personal characteristics into the community, thereby presenting themselves to the other participants as ‘real people’ through the means of communication.

This requires them to develop their “social-emotional literacy”, reflect upon their interactions and affective behaviours (sharing personal information, expressing emotions).

From a teaching presence both teachers and students act to design and facilitate cognitive and social experiences to enhance learning outcomes. Teachers and/or students develop learning activities/experiences, facilitate discussions and act as subject matter experts.

A “Community of Inquiry” approach develops deep construction of knowledge and actively promotes students to wield and communicate their thinking and understandings.

Junior Campus Library Premier’s Reading Challenge As mentioned previously, we have had one class successfully finish the challenge. In fact, this particular class has caught the reading bug!

I visited 2 Purple this week to talk with the boys about the reward I had promised to the first class to have every child complete the challenge. They sat wide-eyed when I mentioned that there was a reward for their hard work.

A literacy consultant from Pegi Williams Bookshop will visit the boys next week. She will engage the boys in a discussion about literature. At the end of the session I will allocate the class $100 to spend on books they wish to purchase for the school. So the boys will need to negotiate, vote on favourite books (hopefully using tallies to record the process), budget and adjust their selection to ensure their choices fit within the allocated amount.

The boys were so excited to be given this responsibility.

Inside each book that they purchase I will place an inscription, stating that the book has been donated by the boys from 2PU for being the first class to complete the Premier’s Reading Challenge in 2012. They are also looking forward to having their selection borrowed as part of their class loan before being placed in the general collection.

This is an exciting learning opportunity that continues to develop, from Reception to Year 12, high quality teaching and learning in a 21st Century context.

It might be timely to add that there will also be a prize for an individual, in each of the categories (R-2, 3-5, and 6,) who reads the most number of books according to the rules.

Senior Fiction / Senior Picture Fiction: While the literacy consultant is with us, I have asked her to conduct some sessions with the Year 6 students.

I am very conscious that our senior fiction and senior picture-fiction sections, which I created at the beginning of the year, are in need of expanding. I have conducted a survey with the boys to look at some of their reading preferences and recommended authors and books. I am hoping that they will have some recommendations for books to purchase for this collection after some spirited discussion.

Personally, I think it fits beautifully with our Gospel Challenge for this week: ‘Be still and know God.’

Desiderata Go placidly amidst the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Last Friday, the following boys completed their First Reconciliation and the theme from our preparation was all about starting a new page, and asking God to forgive us.

Canteen Notice We know that sometimes in the busy rush of getting ready in the mornings, lunch and/or lunch money can be forgotten by parents and students.

In the event that a student finds himself without lunch, the College will provide the student with a basic meal of a vegemite or cheese sandwich.

Please refer to the Canteen Manager for this assistance if required.

The Canteen is no longer able to provide credit.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection.

Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its shams, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.

The Night Aliens Landed On The Sportsfield

Whoever gets hold of this book, please keep it safe. You are going to learn about my adventure with space aliens! First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Max Chestington. I am ten years old and I love reading. I’m currently in year five at Christian Brothers College. Well, I might as well go on with the story!

My class was having a sleepover party in our classroom to celebrate World Class Sleepover Day. We were watching Cars 2 when I heard a loud bang coming from the sports field. I don’t think anyone else had heard it because no one had turned around.

I asked my teacher, Mr. Corner, if I could go the toilet, but I was secretly going to see what had made the noise. “Sure”, said Mr. Corner “Get Adam to go with you though.

It’s dark and you could trip over. I convinced Adam to follow me to the sports field and check it out. We quietly tip-toed to the sports field. I nearly screamed when I saw what had made the noise.

It was an alien spaceship! Adam and I ran as fast as we could back to class to tell Mr. Corner. He didn’t believe us at first and he got mad at us for not going to the toilet.

Adam and I convinced him to go up to the sport field and see that we weren’t lying. He told us we would get a detention if were lying to him. You should have seen his face when he saw the spaceship! He looked like he was about to faint! He quickly rang the police to come and do something. Several minutes later four policemen and a Channel 7 News van arrived. The school had to be shutdown and all the children’s parents had to come and pick them up. As I went to sleep, I thought about the alien spaceship. I wanted to investigate more about it. I crept out of bed and quietly put my clothes on and walked out the door. As I approached the school, I hid behind a bush to try and hide from the police. I heard them say aliens had been sighted inside the spaceship but they couldn’t see the aliens anymore. I wanted to go inside school to get a better look but the police had blocked the entrance for safety issues.

I was just about to go home when suddenly I felt something breathing heavily down my neck. I turned around to see who, or what, it was. It was an alien! I fainted and the next thing I knew was that I woke up inside the spaceship and two slimy aliens were peering over me as if they were two surgeons and I was the patient. I didn’t bother to ask them how I ended up in the spaceship without the police looking. Instead I screamed at the top of my lungs. “Please! We mean you no harm!”, boomed an alien, “ My name is Gook, captain of the S.P.Aceship.” “And I am Gloop”, yelled the other alien cheerfully, “Our spaceship ran out of fuel on our way to our home planet, Skripion.” After several minutes they explained to me that they needed my help to make some fuel for the spaceship. I suggested that we could go to the science lab in the senior school.

On the way down, the police stopped us in our tracks. “They’ve kidnapped a child!” a woman screamed. Gook quickly teleported us back to the spaceship, but we didn’t end up there at all. Instead we ended up at the beach! We were lucky it was dark and no one was around or we would’ve been seen. I suddenly had an idea! I picked up an empty plastic bottle and filled it seawater. Gook teleported us back to the spaceship and I asked him to open up the fuel tank. I poured the seawater into it and shut the lid tight.

“What are you doing?” asked Gloop. “Believe me it’ll work.” I replied. Gook switched the engine on and suddenly the spaceship sprang to life! “How’d you know it would work?”

Gloop asked. “I read it in a book once.” I replied happily. As soon as the spaceship floated upwards, the police started shooting at us. “They’re going to take over the world!” yelled a man. Gook set the engine to drive and we were off!

The spaceship flew so fast! It was faster than the authors described in stories! I stared out the window to get a view of Adelaide. I saw a metal pipe sticking out of the end of the spaceship which I figured was the exhaust. There was something coming out of it. It wasn’t smoke though. Instead it was crystal clear water! I learnt that the engine could convert seawater into clean water!

Half an hour later, I was safely back on solid ground and the aliens were talking to the mayor. The mayor arranged a deal where we provide the aliens with seawater only if they give us the clean water in return. The aliens agreed and they also offered a bonus. “We’ll even pay you in oil! At our home planet, our oil is like your water. We drink it, bathe in it and wash dishes with it! We’ve got tons of oil!” yelled Gloop. As the aliens walked to their spaceship, the policemen apologized to them for thinking they were evil. Gook and Gloop accepted their apology and, before entering their spaceship, they thanked me for helping them refuel their spaceship. In a flash, their spaceship flew off into the night sky! As I turned around to go home, I saw my angry-looking mum yelling at me. “How dare you leave home in the middle of the night!” yelled my mum crazily. “Uh, oh!”, I thought to myself, “ I am in big trouble!”

The message of this story is: Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover.

YES! NO!

Year 7 Debating CBC Purple defeated Norton Summit Primary School (Rnd 2) Coach: Sandra Mason On Tuesday 22 May the CBC Year 7 Purple debating team went up against Norton Summit Primary school. The topic for the debate was ‘That students should learn to play a musical instrument’, and we were the affirmative side. Our first speaker for the night was Tate Henderson, followed by second speaker Jack Meaker, and our final speaker was Siddarth Rajogopal, with Yianni Briggs as Chairperson. We won the debate by the tiny margin of 0.4 points, which was very close. All speakers got good feedback.

We put up a great debate and our main points were that music makes you smarter, and that it produces career opportunities for children. The opposition argued that music was too expensive and that it can cause disappointment in children, if they don’t succeed. Overall we lifted the standard to slightly get the upper hand, and we were also better prepared from my point of view.

football Year 9 Football CBC 29.19 (193) defeated St Michael’s 3.2 (20) Best Players: All played well Goal Scorers: 6 Colangelo, Tully, 4 Boffo, 2 Sarunic, Bojovic, 1 Koulizos, Perpetua, Crisanti, Strange, Nardecchia, Johansen, Jake Pinksterboer, Daly The scoreboard tells only part of the story of our game against St Michael’s. Early in the game, we actually trailed 2 goals to 1! It took a little while for the CBC side to ‘wake up’ but when it did it turned on a dominant display. This was exemplified by a 10 goal 2nd quarter.

The theme was the same; the ruck combination of Daly and Koulizos gave the on-ballers, led by Captain Jack Strange, first use of the ball so the forwards were continually given opportunities to score. Tully took most of his chances early and Colangelo’s 6 goals all came in the 1st half before he was moved deep into defence.

Players were rotated around various positions of the field.

This meant that all players had opportunities to perform and they all responded. A special mention must go to Matthew ‘Butch’ Nardecchia for his best performance so far this year.

The statement ‘all played well’ is a true representation of our team effort.
