Spartanburg County Schools

Composed of seven independent school districts, Spartanburg County offers award-winning programs in academics, athletics, the arts, and is home to some of the most highly rated public schools in the state. Several school districts have freshman academies to improve the academic and social transition for students into high school. Special opportunities to earn both high school and college course credit simultaneously are offered through multiple programs in the county. Spartanburg public schools have also implemented innovative educational programs involving one-to-one technology initiatives, career and technology centers, and the STEM program emphasizing education and leadership in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind South Carolina’s only specialized school for students who are deaf or blind is located in Spartanburg. The school serves students from all over the state both on campus and through outreach programs by working with local school districts to match children with the best educational options for their specific needs.
