Eastside Spartanburg

10.6 miles/21 minute drive time to Downtown

Neighborhood: Cowpens is home to the historic Cowpens National Battlefield, where the Battle of Cowpens was fought more than two hundred years ago during the Revolutionary War. The town was founded near the site of the fighting after the Americans won this battle against the Black Legion of British Soldiers. The name “Cowpens” came from the rural setting - pasture, farms and of course, cow pens. Cowpens’ neighbor, Pacolet, has been called “an undiscovered gem” and boasts a local farmer’s market and many historic civic buildings, including a circa-1915 three-room schoolhouse that is being turned into a living history resource for local students.

Housing: Both towns offer stunning farmhouses on expansive acreage, as well as unique cottages and bungalows in quiet residential areas.

Lifestyle: Cowpens and Pacolet are both thriving communities with strong ties to their past. Those who put down roots in one or the other will find an abundance of fun community events, like the Mighty Moo Festival in Cowpens, and beautiful natural landmarks, like the Pacolet River.
