Junior Maths Olympiad at UWA The West Australian Junior Mathematics Olympiad was held at the University of Western Australia on Saturday 1 November. Eight of our very talented Year 9 Mathematics students took part in both individual and team challenges. The boys who took part are all from the Academic Excellence Programme’s Maths and Engineering group – Anthony Cammarano, Luke Carbonaro, Henry Rogerson, Joshua Lacey, Ned Marshall, Finlay Martin, Julian Phillips and Samuel Sheridan. The goal of the Olympiad is to challenge the best young mathematicians and the boys performed extremely well.

Poster design wins fourth place Lloyd Jacob Keenan won fourth place in the Western Australian Assocation for Mental Health (WAAMH) Design a Poster competion. Students were asked to illustrate the activities they do to look after their body, mind and soul for better mental health. The competition aimed to promote positive mental health behaviours and wellbeing in schools. Lloyd’s winning artwork will be printed on postcards and distributed at the Positive Schools conference and during Mental Health Week. Come and join us at a ‘parent-friendly’ information evening where guest speaker Jordan Foster from ySafe Solutions will provide strategies for parents about Gen Y’s online behaviours, from a Gen Y expert. Jordan will give a brief overview of different social media platforms and cover topics including behaviour management, how to set boundaries at home and gaming. Wine and cheese will be provided. Curtin Twilight Tours Twilight Tours are for interested prospective students to gain a glimpse of the Curtin campus and facilities after hours.
