V Scientific Expedition of the Lower São Francisco
Science, education, and health. The triad of the Lower São Francisco Scientific Expedition arrives at its fifth edition even stronger, supporting the actions of 66 volunteer researchers from all over Brazil who made the laboratory boats their home from November 3 to 12. Passing through 10 municipalities during the expedition’s journey, the researchers carried out actions such as collecting samples and analyzing water, soil, ichthyofauna, flora, fish sold in local markets, the health situation of riverside populations, indigenous people, quilombolas, and much more. 35 research areas were covered, and their results will be made available in a book, following the pattern of previous years.
