Eternal Difference
It was a terrifying day for 14-year-old Ju Ju. Two men had grabbed her and a friend while they were walking home. “I thought they would sell us to sex traffickers,” said Ju Ju. Ju Ju had seen an episode of CBN’s animated series Superbook about the prophet Daniel at an after-school program near her home in Myanmar. So, Ju Ju began to pray like Daniel. “In the Superbook story, God protected Daniel in the lions’ den. I prayed, ‘God, protect me. I don’t want to die.’ I did not stop praying,” Ju Ju recalled.
Amazingly, the men decided to let them go. When Ju Ju, who had been raised as a Buddhist, returned to the after-school program, she prayed to receive Jesus as her Savior. And, as we often receive in reports, the change in her spread to the rest of her family. Her mother now prays to Jesus, and her siblings watch Superbook in Sunday school.
Ju Ju is just one of many transformed by Superbook. Last year, a projected 296 million viewers recalled having sung “The Salvation Poem” that concludes each episode. The Superbook outreach programs have exceeded all expectations for world evangelism as God blessed the work in ways we never imagined. Here are just a few recent highlights:
» The Superbook Academy website launched in Portugal, offering lesson plans in European Portuguese to schools and churches.
» In Indonesia, CBN is broadcasting Superbook and providing churches with Superbook Sunday school materials.
» In Cambodia, there are 265 active Superbook church partners. More than 7,600 kids are seeing Superbook in Sunday school, and 975 kids and counting have professed faith in Jesus.
» In August 2022, the Spanish-language Superlibro YouTube channel reached 1 million subscribers, providing children 6–12 years old with evangelistic content, discipleship, and biblical teaching.
» Recently, CBN Animation’s Superbook started airing Gizmo’s Daily Bible Byte on YouTube in Ukrainian and Russian.
