The risks of taking drugs

Some drugs like heroin are even mixed with tar so it looks like there is more but you don’t know this so it is damaging to your body and you also may not know how powerful the drug is so you might think you are taking a little bit but are actually taking loads.

Why drugs are not worth taking

Taking drugs are illegal in the UK and many places around the world. It can change your life forever and also kill you. People take drugs for many reasons for example, out of curiosity, to make your self feel better or even because your friends are taking it. When you start taking drugs, it is almost impossible to stop taking drugs. People get addicted to drugs because they enjoy the feeling after taking it or to cope with stress. Drug use can affect short- and long-term health , including physical and mental health.You may loose your memory, have unprotected sex, aggressive to others, impact on speeling, reduced appetite, weak immune system, liver, kidney and heart problems or cancer.

Alcohol is a depressant drug. Depressants slow down the messages travelling between the brain and body.Taking too much alcohol can lead to many probelms around your body. Organs known to be damaged by long-term alcohol misuse include the brain and nervous system, heart, liver and pancreas..

You are considered an alcoholic if you consume more than 4 drinks on any day or more than 14 drinks per week (for men). For women, consuming more than 3 drinks on any day or more than 7 drinks per week. Heavy drinking can also increase your blood pressure and blood cholesterol levels, both of which are major risk factors for heart attacks and strokes
