Buses
Transport Canberra’s bus service now offers a new zeroemission electric bus fleet that will continue to expand throughout 2023 and 2024 as part of a frequent and reliable bus network connecting you to all major routes within the city. Bus Route 3 connects to the airport for the price of a standard single ticket. The Red Explorer Loop Bus offers a hop on hop off service, departing from the city and taking passengers to Canberra’s major attractions including Australian War Memorial, National Gallery of Australia, Questacon, National Library of Australia, High Court of Australia, National Portrait Gallery, Old Parliament House (MoAD), Australian Parliament House, National Museum of Australia, multiple embassies, and more.
Light Rail
Supporting Canberra’s goal of a zero emissions future, the light rail connects you from North Canberra to the CBD with a fast, frequent, and comfortable journey along Northbourne Avenue. Construction of Stage 2 is underway, extending the line to Commonwealth Park, and eventually connecting to Woden and South Canberra.
