Try a Mud Run This Summer Who said playing in the mud is just for kids?

What if it could be run as a group, with a casual atmosphere and a light heartedness as you laugh over shared successes and failures?
What if it wasn’t a monotonous exercise or a race to determine who is best? What if running involved mud, tire obstacles, hay bales, walls, and a bed of coals?
It is with fun in mind that races such as the Tater Dash, the Dirty Dash, and the Spartan races have risen to such popularity. The races aren’t always long, ranging in length from three to six miles, but the miles are action packed. The mud races, although fun and often

While some of the races are casual in nature, they are still going to push your physical boundaries and in order to avoid injury, you need to train. Keeping Your Home Comfortable
There are many effective ways to keep your house cool during the summer months that won’t require you to take out a second mortgage.
L
iving in the Treasure Valley has a long list of advantages. For some, though, with the average summer temperature in the 90s, heat is not one of them. Even if you enjoy the hot sun (especially after the winter we just had), it’s important to find a way to keep your house cool without breaking the bank. Here are some easy ways you can save on your energy bills without suffering. Technology Investing in a programmable thermostat can save hundreds on your power bill. If you already have one, you know the benefits! Why have your A/C unit running ALL DAY when you don’t even get home until 5 p.m.? Program the unit to relax during the hotter part of the day and begin cooling the house down before you get home. If you want to take it a step further, get a smart thermostat that actually learns when you need a lower temperature. You can control it from your smartphone, so if you need to make adjustments on the go, it’s no problem. Home Decor Curtains and blinds don’t have to be just for show. They can be an cbboise.com
important key to keeping your house cool. If a window is on the sunny side of your house, tilt the blinds up slightly to prevent the rays from coming in. You don’t have to live in darkness. White blinds will still reflect plenty of light with less of the radiant heat. Isolate Unused Rooms If you are lucky enough to have an extra room you don’t use on a consistent basis, close the vent and the door to that room. It’s a great way to keep your house cool as the cool air can be re-distributed to the rooms you do use. Invest In Ceiling Fans If you don’t have fans already, you may want to consider getting some. Keeping the air circulating can do wonders for the comfort level of your home. They help distribute the air while keeping you cooler. Moving air helps transport the heat you generate away from your body so you can cool down more quickly. Save the Oven Maybe it’s not the best idea to decide to bake at two o’clock in the afternoon. Ovens generate an incredible amount of heat, and it
has to go somewhere. If you need to use the oven, try waiting until later in the evening so you are not competing with the A/C unit during the hottest part of the day. Insulate If you are a homeowner, attic insulation is not an expense; it’s an investment! Not only will it save you on your energy bills, it will also help extend the life of your roof — and keep your house a lot cooler. There are many theories on which insulation is best. If you are on a budget, just remember, any insulation is better than none at all. Check with your local hardware or home improvement store for suggestions, tips, and proper instruction, as you never want to cover attic soffit vents with insulation. By taking a few easy steps, you can enjoy the summer heat when you are outside, knowing that you’ll be greeted with a cool, energy efficient home when you come inside! ellers continue to be favored in what appears to be a sustained prime selling season in the Treasure Valley. Closed sales units remained lower year-over-year in Ada County, while Canyon saw a significant increase over last year’s home sale count for the month. It is still apparent that more buyers would be buying homes right now if they had the right number of homes from which to choose. Though unit sales remain relatively flat, the total closed volume in the market is up due to average sales prices being up. Prices are up 8% in Ada and a whopping 12% in Canyon County compared to last May! Another astonishing metric is the median days on market for the homes that have sold (how many days from initial listing of a home
