hen a client asked me to build this stunning home overlooking Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills, I knew challenges were in store, the biggest one being indoor-outdoor flow. Creating seamless lines between indoor floors and outdoor patios and decks, particularly on an upper floor, is exceptionally difficult and requires expert waterproofing. Water intrusion is the biggest problem for most contemporary homes, but architects appreciate my knowledge in that area. Everything worked without sacrificing the integrity of architect M. Scott Carty’s design by keeping the indooroutdoor flow in virtually every room. With white and off-white dominating the color scheme, along with beautiful terrazzo floors and perfectly scaled interiors, the open feeling is celebrated.� Gary collaborates with leading architects and designers to build fine residences, and to renovate classic and historic homes by architectural greats including Paul Revere Williams.
