Be ready to stop, look, and listen; you’ll learn to identify birds by sound as well as sight. A final stop to view a blue heron rookery along the Slate River concludes our morning. Butterflies and Lunch on Crested Butte Mountain Level: Advanced Beginner-Intermediate Length: 3-4 miles with some rocky, steep terrain We’ll ride the lift up Crested Butte Mountain for this alpine butterfly tour. Enjoy expansive mountain views, lush wildflowers, and numerous aspen groves on this moderate hike. Some of the best views of Gothic Mountain can be seen from the lift and along the trail.
