At CCAD we have a BTEC Diploma to suit all levels of student allowing them the opportunity to progress ultimately to university or into industry. Our BTEC Level 1 Diploma lasts for one year and offers students with no prior academic qualifications the opportunity to achieve the equivalent grades to progress to Level 2. Our BTEC Level 2 Diploma also lasts for one year and requires entry levels of 3 GCSEs at grade D-G or above (or equivalent). This course results in the equivalent grades required to progress onto Level 3. Our Level 3 Extended Diplomas are two year courses requiring entry levels of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) and a portfolio of work. These courses allow students to gain in depth knowledge of their chosen creative pathway and allow them to study a complementary A-Level alongside the main course (see individual course pages for details). This means that students completing these courses will do so with the equivalent of four A-Levels, more than enough for university entry.

At interview you will be asked general questions regarding your application to us, some questions about yourself, your inspirations and aspirations and we ask students to bring a portfolio of their work to discuss. The most important thing about this interview is to be yourself. The idea behind your interview is to show us the kind of things you are interested in, for us to see how passionately you talk about your work and to help us make sure we find the best course to suit you. A portfolio is individual to every student and it is difficult to say exactly what it should consist of. As students will all have individual styles and will have been taught to produce work in different ways. We encourage students to bring anything that they feel will help support their application to the College. A portfolio should be prepared in a logical order. All full-time FE students under the age of 19 on 31st August will have their tuition fee and examination fee remitted in full.
