In October, the Foundation worked with RIGGS Partners to host a breakfast to help propel the growth of skills-based volunteerism in South Carolina. A Billion + Change is a national campaign to mobilize and recognize corporate pro bono service.


In December, the Foundation’s Talk About Giving initiative was featured in financial columnist Ron

Lieber’s article in The New York Times. Thanks to this national coverage, more than 680 TAG card games went to children and parents across the country just in time for the holidays.

In November, Columbia Metropolitan joined the Foundation to kick off the season of giving by recognizing our Best of Philanthropy Community Champions. In April, the Foundation announced it will invest at least $1 million into the Literacy 2030 initiative to provide grants during the next three years to improve literacy in the Midlands. The primary focus of these grants is childhood education, specifically from birth through age eight.
