AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY ABOUT AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY/ LIGHT DIESEL
The Automotive Technology/Light Diesel program prepares skilled technicians to work in the Automotive and Diesel industries. As a graduate, you will be prepared to pursue Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, with standards set forth by National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) in all eight performance areas and truck technology.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Program Length: • Diploma – 59 Weeks • Degree – 99 Weeks Class Times: • Day – 7:00am to 12:00pm, M-F • Afternoon – 12:30pm to 5:30pm, M-F Credential Earned: Diploma and Degree tracks available. Degree track grants an Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree.
PREREQUISITES
High school diploma or GED and admissions essay required for admittance.
JOB OUTLOOK
According to the US Department of Labor, employment of diesel mechanics is expected to grow 15% by 2020. Job opportunities should be good for those who have completed formal postsecondary education and have strong technical skills.
