DIESEL ABOUT DIESEL TECHNOLOGY
The Diesel Technology program combines theory with hands-on training designed to stimulate the work environment and prepare you to inspect, diagnose and conduct failure analysis and preventative maintenance inspections. You will gain knowledge in the areas of electronic circuits, cooling systems, truck brake systems, steering and drive trains, hydraulics, torque, converters and alignment. For students interested in owning or managing a business, the Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree program combines business management, communications, leadership and entrepreneurship with the diesel technology knowledge. • Snap-On Tool Kit • Domestic and Foreign Vehicle Training • Master Technician Instructors • Exceptional Diagnostic Training
PROGRAM DETAILS
Program Length: • Diploma: 35 weeks • Degree: 75 weeks Class Times: 7:00am to 12:00pm, M-F Credential Earned: Diploma and Degree tracks available. Degree track grants an Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree.
PREREQUISITES
High school diploma or GED and admissions essay required for admittance.
JOB OUTLOOK
Employment of diesel mechanics is expected to grow 15% by 2020. Job opportunities should be good for those who have completed formal postsecondary education and have strong technical skills.
