CCC RECEIVES FOUR YEAR ACCREDITATION
F
inancial accountability is a prerequisite for an organization to be deemed fiscally responsible and trustworthy. That assessment comes from an independent auditing firm. But how is an organization held accountable for the services it provides, as well as how it serves its clients? For a human services organization like Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC), an independent agency known as the Council on Accreditation (COA) reviews clients’ cases, conducts surveys, and speaks to clients and stakeholders about the services they have received. We are proud to share that CCC has recently completed its COA review and has received its accreditation for another four years. What is COA? COA is an international, independent, nonprofit, human service accrediting organization. Founded in 1977, their mission is to partner with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards. Their vision is to see excellence in the delivery of human services globally, resulting in the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Why is accreditation important? COA accreditation affirms that an organization meets the highest national standards of best practice and establishes the organization’s credibility as effective and professionally sound.
