THE BIG QUESTIONS (to discuss with your kids) 1. In today’s story, why were the disciples afraid? They were afraid of the power of the storm. 2. Did the disciples need to be afraid? No, because they had Jesus with them. 3. In Mark 4:40, Jesus asks the disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” What did the disciples need to have faith in? They needed to have faith in Jesus and what he could do. They were still learning who Jesus was—the Son of God! 4. Mark 4:41 says that even after Jesus calmed the storm, the disciples were still terrified. Why? They were afraid because now they were experiencing the power of God, not in the wind and waves, but in the person of Jesus Christ.
