Activity Can You Climb?

What You Need No supplies needed. What You Do Challenge your child to move around the room in the following ways: crawl, hop on one foot, jump, and pretend to climb a tree. Repeat as desired. Say, “We can move in so many different ways! Listen to how I tell you to move and do what I do. “First, let’s crawl. Get down on your hands and knees and crawl around! (Demonstrate.) Great job! Now, let’s jump. (Demonstrate.) This is so much fun! Now, can you hop on one foot. (Demonstrate.) Way to go! Now, let’s pretend to climb a tree. Watch me!” (Demonstrate.) Repeat the activities as time allows.
Bible Story Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10)
When you are finished with the activity, say, “Wow! Great job moving in all those different ways! Today in our Bible story, we heard about a man named Zacchaeus. What did he climb? That’s right! Zacchaeus climbed a tree to see Jesus. Jesus loved Zacchaeus even though he had made some bad choices. That’s because Jesus loves everyone! Who does Jesus love? Jesus loves everyone.”
Remember This “Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14, NIV
Say This Who does Jesus love? Jesus loves everyone.
Prayer “God, thank you for sending Jesus to love us, even when we do something wrong. Help us remember that Jesus loves everyone so we can love everyone, too. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
