Activity Dance and Listen

What You Need: No supplies needed What You Do: Ask your child to dance while you count to twelve. When you reach twelve, have your child freeze. Repeat as many times as desired. Say, “Use your listening ears! I will count to twelve while you dance. When your listening ears hear me get to twelve, I want you to FREEZE! Are you ready to dance and listen? Let’s go! One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve! Freeze! (Pause.) Awesome! Let’s do it again! (Repeat as many times as desired.) That was so much fun. You have some awesome dance moves!” After the activity, talk about how you danced to the number twelve. Jesus was only twelve years old when Mary and Joseph found Him talking about God to grown-ups.
Bible Story
Say, “In our Bible story today, Jesus was talking about God to grown-ups when He was only twelve years old, and they were amazed at what He knew! Jesus was so wise and knew so much about God. Jesus is God’s Son, and Jesus is AMAZING! Tell me, who is amazing? Jesus is amazing!”

Say This Who is amazing? Jesus is amazing.
Prayer “Dear God, thank you so much for sending Jesus! He is AMAZING because he is your only son and he wants to be our friend forever. We love you, amen.”
