Activity

Pouring and Serving What You Need: Toy tea kettle, pitcher, or cup; plastic cups or small containers; funnel; painter’s tape; shallow plastic tub; and water NOTE: Never leave a tub of water unattended. When the activity is over, please discard the water immediately. What You Do: Set the shallow plastic tub on the table. Use the tape to mark lines at different heights on each cup. Fill the tea kettle with water. Place everything in the tub to catch any spills. Say, “In our story today, Jesus had the helpers fill jars with water before He did something amazing! Let’s practice pouring and filling today!” Say, “Hold the funnel over the cup like this. (Demonstrate.) Pour the water until it reaches the tape line. (Pause.) Good job! Now let’s practice pouring into the other cups. (Pause.) That was amazing! You are a great pourer and server.”
Bible Story Water to Wine (John 2:1-11)
After the activity, say, “In our story today, we heard how Jesus turned water into a super-fancy party drink. Only Jesus could do that because Jesus is amazing. Who is amazing? Jesus is amazing.”

Say This Who is amazing? Jesus is amazing.
Prayer “God, thank you so much for giving us Jesus! Thank you for all the amazing things Jesus did and that Jesus wants to be our friend forever. We love you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
