Did You Know?

This resource is designed to allow your family to have time in God’s Word BEFORE your children attend church. Because God’s plan is for parents to be the primary spiritual nurturers of their children’s faith, we want YOU to be the one to introduce this part of The Big God Story to them.

• The Big God Story—from beginning to end—is the story of God’s desire to be in relationship with us because of His love for us.

For additional support in spiritual parenting and to learn more about creating transforming environments in your home be sure to pick up HomeFront: A Spiritual Parenting Resource from your church or access the app for your iPhone, iPad, or Android devices.

• Throughout The Big God Story we see God’s plan of redemption to bring us back into community with Him.

4.12

• The Big God Story continues to be written through the life of every believer. • We each play a part in The Big God Story. Those who believe in Jesus have a special role to play.

The Big God Story Part of The Big God Story Genesis—Revelation

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells us the narrative of God’s love for us and His plan of redemption for us through His son, Jesus Christ. The Bible is truly The Big God Story.

Your child continues to have an active imagination. What does he want to be when he grows up? Allow him to imagine what the future will look like and how The Big God Story will play a part in what lies ahead.

Older Kids Your child reflects on past experiences to help shape her future choices. Help her create a timeline of The Big God story in her own life. Talk about the milestones and ways she has seen God active in her life. Encourage her to think about how God will continue The Big God Story in her future.

Teachable Moments

SERVING Whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:44–45

After reading Scripture, discuss the following together: • What is your favorite part of The Big God Story? • How does it make you feel to know you’re part of The Big God Story? • How can God use you to share His story with other people?

Blessing For more information about blessing your child see the Blessing section in HomeFront: A Spiritual Parenting Resource.

(Child’s name), may you be filled with the knowledge that God has redeemed you through faith in His Son, Jesus! He has given you a special role to play in The Big God Story and will bring you to live with Him in heaven one day. May you be blessed by His gracious love for you so that your life will be a blessing to others.
