ELEMENTARY FAMLIIES AND KIDS For Sunday, June 18, 2017

At Home Weekly is designed for you to use during the week with your son or daughter. You’ll find out what they learned today at church and can help them prepare for next week by exploring the theme (or Ponder Point) and spending time together in God’s Word.

WHAT WE LEARNED THIS WEEK PONDER POINT: GOD'S POWER CHANGES EVERYTHING Healing of the Beggar Acts 3:1–10 Peter healed a beggar through the Holy Spirit's power.

WHERE WE’RE HEADED NEXT TIME PONDER POINT: GOD'S SON CHANGES EVERYTHING

Lesson 4.5

CONNECT AS A FAMILY Take a short walk with your children. After your walk, find a quiet spot and read the biblical account of Paul’s conversion in Acts 9:1–18. When you finish reading, ask your children what they think Paul might have felt like when he suddenly heard from God and found himself blind. Ask them if they feel like they’ve ever heard from God. (Remind them that it’s okay if they haven’t heard from Him.) After reading the Scripture passage, discuss these questions together: • How do you think Saul might have felt while he was speaking with Jesus on the road? • Why do you think God sent Ananias to pray for Saul? • How has Jesus changed your life?

Paul's Conversion Acts 9:1–31 Jesus spoke to Saul on the road to Damascus.

These questions can easily extend into the rest of the week. Look for opportunities to bring conversations about how God's Son Changes Everything into your everyday life as a family.

DID YOU KNOW?

REMEMBER VERSE

Share these facts to get the conversation started. • Before his conversion, Paul was a Pharisee, a scholar of the Jewish Law, and the leader of the persecution of the church. • Once Jesus came to Paul, Paul knew that Jesus was God. • Once Paul was filled with the Spirit, he dedicated the rest of his days to proclaiming that Jesus is the Son of God.

The Remember Verse focuses on a character trait of God that’s highlighted in next week’s portion of The Big God Story.

He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever—holy and awesome is his name. Psalm 111:9

BLESSING Blessings are often used in the Bible. A blessing can be a prayer of commission, a portion of Scripture, or words to encourage and guide. A blessing to pray over your child: (Child’s name), may you be transformed by knowing Jesus came to earth, died, and rose again for you.
