Did You Know?

This resource is designed to allow your family to have time in God’s Word BEFORE your children attend church. Because God’s plan is for parents to be the primary spiritual nurturers of their children’s faith, we want YOU to be the one to introduce this part of The Big God Story to them. For additional support in spiritual parenting and to learn more about creating transforming environments in your home, be sure to pick up HomeFront: A Spiritual Parenting Resource from your church or download at HomeFrontMag.com. You can also access the HomeFront app for your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

3.8 God Knows What We Need

• When the beggar first approached Peter and John, he didn’t ask for healing, he asked only for money. • God knew that money wouldn’t ultimately satisfy the man. He knew that the man needed both physical and spiritual healing. • The miracles the disciples performed helped them get the attention of the crowd so they could tell them about Jesus.

Young children are notoriously egocentric—you may find that your son or daughter has tantrums when they don’t get their way. Remember to be consistent as you set boundaries to guide their course.

Teachable Moments After reading the passage, discuss the following together: • How do you think the beggar felt before he was healed?

Part of The Big God Story Acts 3

A beggar asked Peter and John for money. God worked through Peter to heal the man’s crippled legs. When the people gathered to see the miracle, Peter was able to tell them about Jesus.

• How did the beggar feel after he was healed? How do you know? • Why did God heal the crippled beggar?
