Preschool/ Kinder date:
This resource is designed to allow your family to have time in God’s Word BEFORE your children attend church. Because God’s plan is for parents to be the primary spiritual nurturers of their children’s faith, we want YOU to be the one to introduce this part of The Big God Story to them. For additional support in spiritual parenting and to learn more about creating transforming environments in your home, be sure to pick up HomeFront: A Spiritual Parenting Resource from your church or download at HomeFrontMag.com. You can also access the HomeFront app for your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Did You Know? • Deuteronomy 6:4 is known as the Shema (from the Hebrew word for “hear”). • To shema is to hear the cry of one’s heart and be moved to respond. • In Joshua 10, we see shema in a new light. In verse 14, the Bible declared that God listened to Joshua, or rather, God shema’ed Joshua. He heard the cry of Joshua’s heart and was attentive.
Your child will learn how to talk with God by watching how you respond to various situations in prayer. Be intentional about praying with and for your children on a regular basis.
Teachable Moments After reading Joshua 10:12–15, discuss the following together: • How does God pay special attention to everyone in the world, all at the same time?
Remember Verses Younger: As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Psalm 55:16
Older: As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice
• Why does God pay special attention to us? • How does God show He pays special attention to us?
Psalm 55:16–17
