This resource is designed to allow your family to have time in God’s Word BEFORE your children attend church. Because God’s plan is for parents to be the primary spiritual nurturers of their children’s faith, we want YOU to be the one to introduce this part of The Big God Story to them. For additional support in spiritual parenting and to learn more about creating transforming environments in your home, be sure to pick up HomeFront: A Spiritual Parenting Resource from your church or download at HomeFrontMag.com. You can also access the HomeFront app for your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Did You Know? • In Judges 6, the Israelites had once again turned from the one true God and sought fulfillment through the worship of false gods.

Your child will benefit from hands-on experiences. As you expose your child to new ideas and information, provide as many opportunities as possible to put their new knowledge into action.

• Because of their disobedience, God permitted neighboring countries to overpower Israel. Each time the people attempted to plant crops, the Midianites and Amalekites swept in and destroyed what had been planted. • Ironically, God chose to use a simple farmer to redeem Israel. Gideon wasn’t trained in the military, and yet the angel of the Lord called him “mighty warrior.”

Remember Verses Younger: As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Psalm 55:16

Teachable Moments After reading Judges 6:11–17, discuss the following together: • What do you think it means to say yes to God? • Have you ever said yes to God? When? • What do you think God might ask you to say yes to this week?

Older: As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice Psalm 55:16–17
