Preface

“My 2 cents” is an American idiomatic expression. It is normally used to preface a tentative stating of one’s humble opinion by suggesting its value is only 2 cents, which is a significantly small amount. However, “Little Things Can Make A Big Difference”. One humble opinion on the idea may not mean a lot, but as we accumulate every humble opinion along the way, we are accumulating value that create a ripple effect on the initial idea and it might lead us to greater idea. Therefore, I believe an idea grows alongside every 2 cents.

Stationed in Subang Jaya, Chi Cheng (also known as CC) is a graphic designer specialising in conceptual ideation, brand communication and brand identity. Over the years of training in design school(s), it has taught her one important life lesson and that is to give back to the community. This has led her to designing for various events with noble social causes, such as Freedom Festival, TEDxKL and some more. Although she may be trained as a graphic designer, she finds pleasure in making illustrations during her free time, from the size of an A5 paper, to a canvas as big as a wall.

Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, SPCA, to most of us, is a well-respected and trusted Non-profit Organisation. However, their passive visual approach to the community did not seemed to be effective.

Therefore, the rebranding was centred on building the bond between the community and the animals through various learning programs and activities organised by SPCA, to give a shift for a more positive approach.

Communication is important, but communicating with enthusiasm is even more important to have an exciting and impactful life. Everyone seeks excitement in life, but KFC is often not seen as a place to hang out among young people because of

its projection of “fmaily-type” brand. It’s KFC Time! is a 1 month campaign that lets you live life more exciting and impactful. The Open Future TEDxKL Conference 2014

TEDxKl, Asia’s largest TEDx Conference with the theme 2014: “The Open Future”, a future of possibilities because of techonologies, the future is created by none other than ourselves. In relation to the theme, the concept behind the event identity is

the phenomenon of waves and ripple effects, that one action could cause a chain reaction. As techonology exmpowers us to equip ourselves with knowledge, the visual language and message is about creating ripples leading to a ripple effect. My Generation Papernomad Design

Papernomad is the analog companion for our mobile digital devices. The paper sleeves are made of purely organic and biodegradable materials. They opened a creative invite in Talenthouse, asking designers from all over the world to

“Share Your Story”. Inspired by local youtuber, Jinnyboy’s “My Generation” video, the story has taken the angle of reliving the 90s’ childhood games and riddles.
