A Special Thank You from your Chapter President

Thank you, Palm Beach Chapter, for allowing me to serve as your fourth Chapter President It is with a humbled heart and much appreciation that I bring greetings to our Jack and Jill Palm Beach Chapter families during these unprecedented times We thank God for his mercies and grace as our families navigate the coronavirus pandemic We thank our Palm Beach chapter for their flexibility, creativity and efforts to stay engaged and committed to our beloved Jack and Jill of America, Inc. organization. Together you have made many changes in your Jack and Jill experience.

Words are not enough to thank the 2018-2020 Executive Board for their tireless efforts and dedication Likewise, to our devoted committee chairs and mothers I extend my personal and genuine appreciation to each of you for your valuable contributions to the chapter over the last two years The organization has not only benefited from your service, but you have raised the bar for the Palm Beach chapter experience As we embrace our chapter growth, we welcome, with open heart and kindness, mothers Hollani, Daphne, Winny, Jeannette, Jasset, Naomy, and Legacy Amber to our Palm Beach Chapter

Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Black Family Day celebrates the proud cultural heritage of African-American families and the Palm Beach chapter uses this time to recognize our program year accomplishments, honors our senior teens, and pays tribute to our graduating moms. As this phenomenal Black Family Day goes virtual, a special thanks to the grade group chairs and committee chairs who brought our families memorable events from Jack and Jill Day to this end of year Black Family Day event Over the last two years, our chapter has experienced firsts, enhanced, and upheld our programming We acknowledge our inaugural golf tournament fundraiser, chapter tea, grant awards for our community partners, and Associate Chapter chartering

No one will ever forget the class of 2020 and we convey congratulations to our graduating seniors Christian Bolden, Logan Lockhart, Kelsi Mingo, and Chandler Searcy! We pray you treasure your Jack and Jill experience and the relationships you ’ ve made over the years as a rewarding journey We are extremely proud of your accomplishments and destined success in college and beyond. Honor the roots your parents have planted and remember that hard work and perseverance lead to bountiful rewards. To our graduating Mom Celeste, our chapter extends our love, and gratefulness to you and your family. You’ve supported our chapter and will always be a part of our Palm Beach family and look forward to your Associate Membership.

Congratulations to the 2020-2022 Executive Board and 2020-2021 Teen Executive Board! I am confident your team will model and support the collaborative spirit that will lead our Palm Beach chapter to new horizon Mothers our national organization charged us with the “The Power to Make a Difference, We Can Do More” and the Palm Beach chapter answered the call and supported chapter, regional and national initiatives to the benefit of ALL children and our community I pray all mothers continue to engage in creating impactful experiences for our children and the community Your support of outstanding programming, chapter operations and attendance of Regional/National events has added value to everyone ’ s membership in the organization

The coronavirus has introduced us to a new way of life. Social distancing has prevented us from physical contact, but it has does not keep us from being stronger together as we cherish those we love and care for in our hearts. As we take this time to refresh, renew and reset, let us not forget that God is preparing us for a brighter and better tomorrow than we can ever imagine. Our young people are our future and with this global shared experience they will be enduring, we will continue to wish them creative innovations as they embrace the new opportunities ahead of them

I look forward to seeing and hugging all our mothers as soon as we can reach out and touch In the meantime, we will continue virtually or by any safe means necessary, “Let’s work, let’s play, let’s live together” as we continue to make a difference for ALL children Long Live Jack and Jill!!! Empowering all children with passion, purpose and pride is the epitome of what programming is and for. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Palm Beach Chapter for supporting our roles over the last two years! We could not have done it without you! We are excited to have received a “S program handbook for the 2019-2020 programming year! We have the “Power to Make a Difference was our driving force for the direction in how the chapter executed extraordinary programming for ou children We would like to thank our programming committee which included our grade group chairs assure that each grade group activity met the required thrusts There was a great deal of collaboratio between the programming co-directors, grade group chairs and chapter mothers that provided the blu the chapter Since the inception of Jack and Jill in 1938 it has evolved into a strong national organiza programming. Furthermore, one of the hallmarks of Jack and jill is its emphasis on youth developme leadership programs. Our teens and tweens were offered many opportunities to participate in leader the year. The Palm Beach Chapter will continue to develop quality programming that meets the natio to include cultural, education, health, civic social and recreational As we close out our two year term with our Virtual Family Reunion Black Family Day we salute Mother Karlene Kiminyo and Mom Deea leadership as President and Vice President for the 2018-2020 term

Graduating Mom

Mom Celeste Bolden

Mother Celeste joined Jack and Jill of America, Inc. May 3, 2014  She is originally from Jacksonville, FL. She attended Florida State University. Mom Celeste has been married to her husband, Chris Bolden, for twenty-years. She calls him her "safe place". The have one child, Christian Bolden who is a graduating senior bound for his mom's alma mater, Florida State. Mom Celeste has served the Palm Beach chapter on the executive board as Chaplain She has worked on several committee during her time in Jack and Jill which include Community service, Protocol, and Hospitality , for which she was a committee chair. Mom Celeste has actively attended Mother's Workdays throughout her Jack and Jill experience. Her service and commitment will be greatly missed in the Palm Beach Chapter.

"My mom has always been my number one fan. I have never questioned her love for me and her drive to always make sure I'm happy. One of my fondest memories of my Mom and Jack and Jill is when she brought me to a Habitat for Humanity event. I didn't really want to go but she brought me anyway and I ended up loving it. I cant say thank you enough for all the sacrifices she's made for me and I wouldn't trade her for the world."- Christian

Rooted to Flourish

Christian Joshua Bolden, a senior at Pompano Beach Institute of International Studies in Pompano Beach, Florida, is the son of Chris and Celeste Bolden. He is a 5year member of the Palm Beach Chapter.

Christian regularly volunteers at his home church, where he assists with Sunday Bible School and the Youth Church. He is an assistant manager of his school’s girls’ basketball team and a member of the Business Professionals of America Club.

Christian plans to attend a University in Florida and major in Healthcare Administration It is his goal to become the CEO of a community hospital

Logan Zion Lockhart, is a senior at Boynton Beach Community High School in Boynton Beach, FL. He is the son of Anthony and Charlotte Lockhart. Logan has been a member of the Palm Beach Chapter since 2012. He has accumulated over 1,000 hours of community service. Logan is a member of the National Honor Society. Logan has committed and accepted an athletic scholarship to play college football at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida He plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in business and attend law school

Kelsi Simone Mingo is a senior at Boca Raton High School in Boca Raton, FL and is the daughter of Kimberly and Todd Mingo Kelsi has been a member of Jack and Jill for 15 years Kelsi has been a member of the Boca High varsity basketball team all 4 years helping to win a State Championship. She was a member of Palm Beach County Fab Five and National Society of High School Scholars. Kelsi will play basketball at Boston University. She enjoys volunteering, supporting youth basketball camps, and training sessions. She is interested in becoming an orthodontist.

Chandler Searcy is a senior at The Westminster Schools and the proud son of Kori and Darrell Searcy He has been a member of the Jack and Jill Palm Beach Chapter for four years where he served as Teen President Chandler is a member of the track and field team, Student Advisory Council, National Honor Society, and president of the Spanish Immersion Club. He is an avid golfer, hip-hop head, and fashion connoisseur. After high school, Chandler will attend Howard University and study International Business with the goal of living abroad.
