Jack And Jill Palm Beach Chapter 1 www.jackandjillpalmbeach.org
President Kimberly Mingo Palm Beach Chapter families, congratulations on another successful program year! You continue to amaze me with your dedication, creativity and passion for our fabulous Jack and Jill chapter. I always look forward to our annual end of year recognition and celebration of “The Black Family”. After working mostly within our grade groups and a few chapter events, it’s a time to reflect back on the hard work everyone has put in throughout the year and celebrate together on a job well done. This is truly a labor of love and so rewarding when you see the friendships that continue to strengthen each year among our families and to watch our children grow before our eyes into beautiful young adults who willingly assume leadership roles that will continue to shape our future and theirs. After my first year as Chapter President, I see great progress and excitement as we continue to build on our prior year successes. We continue to excel at programming which is the foundation of our organization while focusing on how we can make a a greater impact in our Palm Beach communities. We are still a young chapter, but we are growing and continue to bring in exceptional new members and welcome transfer members to our chapter. As we prepare for the summer, I hope you take time to think about how Jack and Jill has impacted your families and ponder the question, ”If not for Jack and Jill”…would our children be who they are today. I can honestly say that my children and family would not be! May God continue to bless you and keep you safe. It is an honor to serve as your Jack and Jill Palm Kimberly Mingo, Palm Beach Beach Chapter Chapter President, 2016 - 2018 President this year. I am truly blessed to serve with an awesome group of women. I am also so thankful for the support of my husband, Todd and our children, Sydni, Kelsi and Madison.

MOMS
The Jackson family began its Jack and Jill of America, Inc journey late but what a wonderful short journey it’s been. As a Charter member of the Palm Beach Chapter and with very little prior information about it, I had to learn about Jack and Jill quickly. It still thrills me to remember my first Mother’s Workday as a member of our Provisional Chapter. During the weekend, Mothers from the Southeastern Region demonstrated a passion for the organization beyond words. I sat in awe during the first General Session and continued to be wowed over the next two days. I knew that I would be challenged and blessed by my membership and that my family would also. The first sign from the kids that Jack and Jill was going to be a great experience for them was after the first grade group activity for my two youngest. On the way home I got repeated questions about the organization and when the next grade group activity was. A few years later their first Teen Conference solidified the deal! It’s hard to believe that we’re graduating out and yes it does bring tears to my eyes. The friendships that have been made by my children and me will last beyond these Jack and Jill years. Watching my children grow in so many ways because of their Jack and Jill experience and knowing that there really is a village, the Jack and Jill village, that had their backs, made parenting a little bit easier. For me, working together with likeminded women to develop substantive programming for our children, impactful community service activities for those in need and having lots of fun while doing it, created bonds of Motherhood Sisterhood that I hope will last a lifetime. Jack and Jill Palm Beach Chapter will always be near and dear to me. I will continue to call you by name in my prayers and will support your endeavors as I can. Sincerest of love to all of you…carry on.

To our mother and best friend: Of all the gifts life has to offer, a loving mother is the greatest of them all. Our mother is a woman like no other. There are not enough words we can say to describe just how important you are to us, and what a powerful influence you continue to be. All of our lives, we have followed in your footsteps, wanting to be half of who you are. You are our teacher, our mentor and our friend. We have learned a lifetime of knowledge from you by admiring you from afar and listening to your every word. Because of you, We know what strength and courage is.
MOTHER CYPRIANNA JACKSON
Because of you, we learned how to put our faith and trust in God. Because of you, we know what it feels like to be confident in our own skin. You have held our hand through hardships and there was even a point when we had to hold yours. You never fail to put others first and your spirit always radiates in any room you walk in. Nothing will ever compare to the bond and memories that we share. We are now moving on to a new chapter in life and we want to thank you for getting us where we are today and always having our best interest at heart. We are thankful to know that we will always have an angel watching over us, and proud to call her our mother. We love you. Love. Quinn, Blake and Peyton
MOTHER MICHELLE HENDRICKS
Dear Mom, Words cannot explain how impactful you have been in our lives. For as long as we can remember, you have been someone who encourages the mindset “if you’re going to do something, do it right.” From school meetings to sports events, to anything and everything in between, you have been there giving all your support and making sure we give all our effort. You continue to support us and pray for us every day, which has shaped each one of us into adults who are ready to take on any challenge that may come our way. You have pushed us to be the best version of ourselves, and for that we will be forever thankful. You’ve given up hours of relaxation to tend to our needs, and for that we thank you. You’ve dealt with our crazy mood swings, and for that we thank you. You’ve managed to keep everything together during the most stressful times, so we thank you for being our superwoman. But most of all, you have shown us unconditional love and for that we thank you. We don’t know who we would be or where we would be without you. It’s impossible to repay you for all the ways you’ve been there for us, and we can only hope that you are proud of the people we are growing into. You are the strongest woman we know. We love you, we love you, we love you, and we love you. Love, Paige, Anthony, Jordan, and Hannah

Reflections from Our Graduating Moms (continued from page 4)
MOTHER MICHELLE I was inducted into Jack&Jill of America, Inc. in May of 2007 into the Montgomery County Chapter (Pennsylvania.) Soon after installation I relocated and joined the North Suburban Dallas Chapter. In November 2007, I joined the NSDJJ Chapter. I quickly immersed myself into the Constitution and Bylaws and membership intake committees. Later I became Pre Teen Group CoChair. In 2013, we again relocated and I became a member of the awesome Palm Beach County Chapter. My family was immediately embraced and welcomed! As I approach my transition into becoming an Alum and Life Member, I reflect on my membership with Jack&Jill. As Peyton states, “It’s so worth it!” J&J is so much more than an African American family organization providing cultural, social, educational, civic, and recreational activities that stimulate and expand young minds. It has provided balance for my teens who attend a predominately white private schools, it has provided listening ears as my children matriculate through relationships and hardships, it has provided laughter and fun, it has provided support and cheers, it has provided confidence, a true sense of self, knowledge and a network of friends that my children will forever cherish. Through J&J, Quinn, Blake and Peyton will always have a “Go To” person. It is consistently displayed. Now when it comes to me, the Mom, I’m glad I am writing vs. speaking because tears roll down my cheeks. The group of women in the Palm Beach Chapter are indescribable. The value of this chapter lies in the Women who dedicate themselves to this worthwhile organization. You all have remained a constant in my life. As I’ve navigated through being a solo parent the majority of the time, due to Al’s career demands, I had comfort in knowing that you all are always there and available if needed. I will always treasure the unyielding love and support you provided during my cancer battle. I wasn’t accustomed to asking for help, I always did it all myself. You taught me how to ask. I am so grateful for the prayers, meals, cards, calls, texts, and genuine love. You will never know how much that meant to me and what I learned in the process. Thank you! Keep doing what you’re doing, because you’ve figured it out. I am confident that the children of the Palm Beach Chapter WILL be the dynamic future leaders of this country and beyond.I appreciate you. I will miss you all immensely. Thank you!!! Smooches XOXOXOXOX Mother Michelle
