As a civil and environmental engineering firm with offices in every New England state, we take the responsibility of preserving and protecting our unique landscapes very personally. We work with cities and towns to create solutions that promote economic growth while ensuring the longevity of both their built and natural environments. Forward-thinking solutions must address the current and future effects of climate change. The effects of climate change are broad, with implications for infrastructure, ecosystems, and human health. Understanding these implications and developing strategies to address them are the foundation of Fuss & O’Neill’s approach to climate resiliency. We work with clients to design improvements that are specific for their needs. Some projects utilize a natural approach, in which our engineers and scientists work to mimic or restore the resiliency of natural systems. Natural systems adjust to changes in conditions, require less maintenance, and provide a number of indirect impacts such as improving shade and habitat. Some projects use hybrid techniques to make infrastructure and development more resilient, which can significantly reduce capital and maintenance costs. Your solution will be tailored to your concern and will help your community now and for many years to come.
