A provocative expression of the adolescent experience, Spring Awakening explores the elation and turmoil among teenagers on the verge of sexual self-awareness against a society’s rigid standards of morality. NOVEMBER 20-23, 2008 Corbett Auditorium One ambitious man’s uproarious ride to the top. A lighthearted satire of the business world, this Pulitzer Prizeand Tony Award-winning musical chronicles window washer J. Pierrepont Finch’s rise up the corporate ladder. With the help of an instructional guide and a burgeoning bond with a sharp-as-a-tack secretary, Finch hatches a plan to make it big without breaking a sweat. Based on the Bard’s whimsical comedy, the Tony Awardwinning 1971 rock musical Two Gentlemen of Verona is a frothy celebration of young love from the composer of Hair. Two best friends leave their small town behind to indulge in the big city’s hedonistic thrills. When a lovely young heiress catches both of their attentions, the boys engage in an outlandishly funny battle of one-upmanship. Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, Verdi’s lush and lively final opera is among his most brilliant. Sir John Falstaff is an overstuffed, aging oaf looking to seduce two noblemen’s wives and bilk them of their fortunes. The women take revenge by employing altered identities, amusing distractions and much more mischief in an attempt to beat the fumbling Falstaff at his own game.
