World Heritage in Japan: a photographic exhibition A collection of stunning images from World Heritage listed sites, encapsulating the beauty and diversity of Japan’s natural and cultural legacies by renowned Japanese photographer Kazuyoshi Miyoshi. Visitors will recognise iconic landmarks such as Kyoto’s Kinkaku-ji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion), well-known for its impressive adornment of gold leaf, whilst another prominent monument is the Genbaku Dome (Atomic Bomb Dome /Hiroshima Peace Memorial); a sombre reminder for world peace. Upon travelling further south to the island of Miyajima, the water-submerged otorii gate welcomes its guests to the Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, memorable for its bright orange pillars and floating stage for Japanese traditional performances.
