Dogs lost after Cowra Show fireworks Adopt a Pound pet!
These four dogs were found wandering after last week’s fireworks, if not claimed, they are looking for new homes! Looking for a dog or cat? Drawing comp for Bird Week Local children with a love of nature are being urged to enter a local
“Draw your favourite Australian bird” competition being run to celebrate Bird Week 2016. Open to students from Years 3–6, the event will provide individual awards for Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 entries and is being run by Cowra’s Natural Resource Management (NRM) Committee. Entries can be posted or hand-delivered to the Cowra NRM Committee care of Cowra Council Customer Service Centre at 116 Kendal St, or given to NRM Committee representatives during school visits. Entries close 4.30pm, Wednesday, October 19 with judging by Cowra’s NRM Committee members with winners announced on Friday, October 21. Just desserts for kids at Cowra Library School Holiday event With the current TV series of “Zumbo’s Just Desserts” being on everyone’s lips,
Cowra Library’s theme for the school holidays is “Kids Can Do…Fun Desserts”. Children will enjoy making a simple dessert to eat, or take home, and be encouraged to borrow from the display of cookbooks to make something else at home. It all happens at Cowra Library on Thursday, October 6, from 10–12 noon. The dessert that will be created remains a secret until the session! Bookings are essential, call Cowra Library on 6340 2180.
COWRA REGIONAL ART GALLERY ART WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN Thursday 29 September 2016 Make Your Own Tic Tac Toe Children will design and paint their own Tic Tac Toe game. Each child will be provided with smooth pebbles to create two teams for the game using an insect theme. Friday 30 September 2016 How to Make Sock Puppets Children will design and create two sock puppets using a variety of materials. From mythical creatures to cute, cuddly pets.
