LOG CABIN UPDATE Our Esky Ball sub-committee have once again organised and held a very successful Esky Ball. Congratulations and thank you to our great subcommittee and everyone involved. This has become the hall’s biggest annual fundraiser as well as a great social event on the region’s social calendar. For our little town to continue to host a ball that attracts 300 people and sells out weeks before the event is testament to its success and popularity. Our markets have also grown into a regional drawcard event, many thanks to our local gal Elise Idiens who has put so much personal time and effort into growing the markets to attract loads of people and new stalls (photos throughout). Our restoration works also continue, the roof replacement works is scheduled for September. This is very exciting; resolving roof leakage problems, as well as providing a refreshed look for the exterior of the hall.
GOOLOOGONG COUNTRY CLUB GREAT NEWS!! The Gooloogong Country Club will have a Chinese cook commencing on the 14th July so please spread the word. They have come from Dunedoo and are living in Forbes. Vince has found them for us so that is great news. I am sure a lot of people are looking forward to a change of menu. They have been at the Bowling Club in Forbes with Vince for the past couple of weeks and I have had good reports on their meals. We must thank Leanne and Payton for their good work and also Christine and Vera. Remember the dinner and music night on Saturday 13th of August. This will feature the band FEATHERSTONE and special guest Roz Webb. It will not be a prawn and chicken night. The menu will have to be discussed with the new cooks.
