COUNTRY CLUB NEWS The Club has been in the news of late. I think anyone who watches T.V (channel 7) or listens to the ABC radio would now know that the Club received a grant of $10,000 dollars. This was used to install some much needed shade awnings along the back of the green It will be great for summer. Ted and Trent looked good in the advertisement also the lady bowlers. Who could miss the lady with the feather duster. We did receive quite a lot of positive feedback on social media. Speaking of the bowlers most of Gooloogong would know that the pennants team lost the final by 1point.Well done boys! it was a great effort to be undefeated until the last day. The Club held successful cricket reunion dinner on the 6th of May.It was a very enjoyable evening allowing many old friends a chance to catch up and discuss the old days. Please note there has been a change of date for the sports classic it will be Saturday the 9th of September this year. So start thinking about your teams. Polo Cross will be back in Gooloogong 16th and 17th of June for anyone who would like to go and have a look. Remember Brendan is still cooking awesome chinse food Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights and Sunday lunch. Eat in or take away. Parties by arrangement. Remember your dollar goes further over the bar at the Country Club.

LANDCARE NEWS

P P

On Saturday 20th May 16 Landcarers went on our bus Tri to Canberra Botanical Gardens. The trip was part of the recent project that involved collecting seeds from some local shrub species then growing them and, once they are big enough planting them out into some of the sites around the village. In Canberra we had a lovely guide Bruce who led us through the fabulous gardens answering questions. After lunch he gave us a ride on the Flora Explorer electric bus up to the nursery area for aglimpse "behind the scenes" at some beautiful and rare plants. The Gardens are fascinating and the cafe was pretty good too! Thanks to Loaders of Grenfell for the bus and driver. Next meeting will be Wednesday 14th June, 7.30 at the memorial rooms. We will be planning for the Annual Tree Giveaway at the end of July. Time gets by! ______________________________________________________________
