COUNCIL MULTIPURPOSE ROOM RENAMED
As part of NAIDOC Week 2018, Council this week officially named the former Multipurpose Room the Nguluway Room – Nguluway being a Wiradjuri word meaning “meeting each other”. This room is available free of charge for community groups, and bookings can be made at Council offices. Pictured are Mayor Bill West and Albert Murray unveiling the plaque commemorating this naming

Heavy Patching Pavement Maintenance Works - Macquarie Street Japanese Garden Financial Assistance – Raw Water At the Ordinary Council meeting of Monday 25 June 2018, it was resolved that in accordance with section 356 of the Local Government Act, Council give notice of its intention to provide financial assistance to Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre Limited by the provision of free raw water for a five-year period from 1 January 2022 until 31 December 2026 subject to the Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre Limited being the lessee or trustee of the garden land during this period. Submissions on this matter should be addressed to the General Manager and be received by 4.30pm on 27 July 2018.
Council will be undertaking heavy patching pavement maintenance works in Macquarie St between Kendal St and Vaux St, the works involving trimming, rolling and sealing of the heavy patching works begun on the weekend of 7 and 8 July 2018. The trimming and rolling will be undertaken on Thursday 12th July 2018, between the hours of 7:00am and 8:00am and the sealing will be undertaken on Friday 13th July 2018, between the hours of 7:00am and 8:00am. Please take care when travelling through these and all roadwork worksites.
LACHLAN VALLEY WAY IMPROVEMENTS
Roadwork has commenced on the Lachlan Valley Way.
The work will run for approximately another two weeks and includes widening and pavement strengthening from Leigh Street though to the Midwestern Hwy. All enquiries should be made to Cowra Infrastructure and Operations on tel. 6340 2070.
