The event features three local scientists who have made a rewarding career in science, technology, engineering, and maths. The event features ecologist Jo Lenehan whose work has included studying the pelican breeding season at Lake Brewster in central west New South Wales. Cowra Council’s Pippa Childs will also discuss life as a young civil engineer in a regional town and the important work of designing the critical infrastructure of regional towns to ensure they work in harmony with the environment.

COWRA REGIONAL ART GALLERY Water Interruptions for Gooloogong village Water supplied to Gooloogong will be interrupted for periods from Thursday, 24 August 2017 from 11pm – 4am due to works to be carried-out by Cowra Council. For your convenience and to assist this exercise, during this time you should: 1. Draw off and store sufficient water for your needs for the period of interruption. 2. Please do not turn on any tap during the interruption. If you inadvertently turn one on please turn it off immediately! 3. When supply has been restored, run the following taps for two minutes in the following order UNTIL the water becomes clean and free of air: • a garden tap • a cold water kitchen tap • all hot water taps • Do not use a washing machine or any other water using appliance until the water has become clean and free of air. • For any water using devices, comply with manufacturer’s specifications and/or recommendations for restoration of water supply. Sewer Rehabilitation in Cowra
Cowra Council is now requesting quotes to appoint a Managing Editor to undertake the management and oversight of the Cowra History Book 1988-2018. This project aims not to revise or update Cowra on the Lachlan, but to complement it with a new work that will cover the economic, social, cultural and physical changes to Cowra in the last 30 years.

Cowra Council will be carrying out sewer rehabilitation work commencing Thursday, 24 August over the next three months in the vicinity of the following roads: • Berowra Street, Binni Creek Road, Bligh Lane, Dowell Street, Kibbler Street, Kite Street, Kooralla Walk, Lee Street, Morilla Street, Newcombe Street, Redfern Street, Sheahan Street, Stewart Street, Taronga Drive,Victor Street and Wahroonga Street. Residents will be notified by mail within 48 hours prior to work being carried-out. For more information, contact Cowra Council on 6340 2070.
Cowra is a rural-based township in the NSW central west approximately four hours west of Sydney. The Shire completed a history of the district in 1988 titled Cowra on the Lachlan. This publication was a series of essays contributed by local authors on local history, sports, community groups, villages, churches, and local government.
