NOTICEBOARD BUSINESS CHAMBER TRUMPS REGIONAL AWARDS Cowra’s dynamic Business Chamber recently won first place at the 2018 Western NSW Regional Business Awards Gala Dinner attended by 200 guests at Bathurst. Supported by Cowra Council, the nomination was for best Local Chamber of Commerce with Cowra beating Bathurst and Mudgee for the regional prize. Cowra Business Chamber will now compete for the State’s top honour at the NSW
Business Chamber State Business Awards to be announced at Luna Park, Sydney in November. Other Cowra finalists in the Regional Awards included Alicia Ball from The Salon Collective nominated for Outstanding Young Entrepreneur; Anne Marie Crasti from Verto for Outstanding Business Leader; Cowra Motor Inn and The Salon Collective for Excellence in Small Business; and Cowra Motor Inn for Excellence in Innovation.

COUNCIL AT WORK —FINISHING YOUNG ROAD WORKS Council Roads Maintenance crews are completing major recycling and reshaping work on approximately two kilometres of the Young Road from Fishburn Street to the truck stop area of the highway. Working as contractors for Roads and Maritime Services, the work has included repairing, resurfacing, and lime-stabilising a
two-kilometre section of the paved area of the Olympic Highway with the work costing approximately $750,000. The final paving phase of the work is likely to be completed on-time due to few delays to the project. Council also offers acknowledgement and thanks for the cooperation of local motorists and businesses operating under traffic control throughout the works.

Have your say on Council’s long-term planning Cowra Council’s Draft Delivery Program 2017/2018 to 2020/2021 and Operational Plan 2018/2019, including the Long Term Financial Plan 2018/2019 to 2027/2028 are now on public exhibition and Council is inviting public comment until Friday,15 June 2018. Copies are on public display in the foyer of Cowra Shire Council, 116 Kendal Street Cowra during office hours. Copies are also available for viewing at the Cowra Saleyards, Cowra Library, Materials Recycling Facility and Council’s Depot. All submissions regarding the Draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan must be made in writing to the General Manager, Cowra Shire Council, Private Bag 342, Cowra 2794 or via email to council@cowra.nsw.gov.au by 4pm, Friday, 15 June 2018.
